  1. Can a mod fix the title please? Put an extra "to another" in there.
  2. We need to temporarily have a distribution point for our SCCM 2007 environment added to another domain in another forest. The forest trust is in place and traffic can route to the new domain. What are the steps from SCCM to deploy this distribution point? Is it as simple as adding a new boundary and account for the new domain, then just add the distribution point?
  3. Finally figured this out, in case anyone is curious. First off, apparently you can't install KB977384 in a task sequence, so with that I went back to using a package. First thing I did was manually install each hotfix to see what it updated, and ran into a few instances where the update was superseded, so using that I was able to come up with my order, which is below. 977203,982203,2278119,977384,978754,979199,2263826,2276865,2309968,2444668,2481567,2509007,2516517,2641584,2659258,2724939,2750782,2772081,2815223,2823071,2869381 From there just created a script to install the hotfixes.
  4. I think the other issue alluding me here is, do I need to install hotfixes in any particular order? There are 21 of them, and these are all SP2 hotfixes. Is there a good way to determine what supersedes other updates, or what order they should be installed in?
  5. I'm trying to install various hotfixes, but for a test I chose sccm2007ac-sp2-kb2509007-x86-enu.msp. When you say installation log, do you mean the log file created for the msp, or a SCCM log?
  6. I'm attempting to install hotfixes on machines with a Software Install Task Sequence. Initially I just put the line of hotfixes as individual Software Installs and tried to run it, but it fails with the message: "Task Sequence: Test has failed with the error code (0x80070643)..." I made sure the check box "Allow this program to be installed from the Install Software task sequence without being advertised." I then tried just one hotfix by itself but it failed wit the same error. Any ideas on what the problem could be, or where to troubleshoot it?
  7. And to be clear I'm trying to install SCCM hotfixes.
  8. Are there any good links for walk throughs on creating one of these? I've never done it, and all my searches are turning up are for OSD Task Sequences.
  9. I know they can be used with OS Deployments, but want if I wanted to deploy hotfixes to clients in a specific order, can they be used for that? In this instance the PC's already have the OS installed so I wouldn't want to redo that.
  10. I've inherited an SCCM 2007 environment. Currently it seems hotfixes are installed during OSD, but we're going to be bringing some PC's over from another domain that will not be imaged. I can get the client installed but I need to get hotfixes installed as well. Is there an easy way to determine what hotfixes are installed on a client?
  11. Is there an easy way to install them in an order when deploying as packages? So to basically daisy chain them so the hotfixes will install in order?
  12. Also, is it possible to create a new client package that I can push that will have all hotfixes?
  13. I'm being thrown into the fire so to speak in an established SCCM 2007 environment. The server has R3 installed, and Client's are version 4.0.6487.2232. We're trying to bring PC's from another domain in and my manager got the agent installed on one, but it shows version 4.0.6487.2000. What hotfixes need installed to get it up to 2232? Also, what's the most effective way to install the agent with hotfixes? Deploy the hotfixes in a package, or use Client Push with the Patch option?
