Hi, I have the same problem every time I reboot my sccm server which is also the PXE Service point. Unable to delete file C:\Windows\TEMP\PXEBootFiles\Windows\Boot\EFI\bootmgfw.efi (0x80070005). Retry after 1 seconds ... Unable to delete folder C:\Windows\TEMP\PXEBootFiles\ (0x80070091). Retry after 1 seconds ... Still unable to delete folder C:\Windows\TEMP\PXEBootFiles\ (0x80070091) after 31 retries. Continue without further retry. When it happens, sometime the WDS service fails to start. I have to start it manually. Then it fills the log with the same error, over and over but after a couple of minutes, it succeeds to start the service although the folder ACL has not change nor was it deleted. And I can see those lines in the smspxe.log Warning: Failed to copy the needed boot binaries from the boot image D:\RemoteInstall\SMSImages\SMSPKG\S0100002\boot.S0100002.wim. Cannot create a file when that file already exists. (Error: 800700B7; Source: Windows)) PXE Provider finished loading. Every thing works as I it should then. PXE responds to client, it boots images, etc. I've seen this behavior reported many times on the net. Is it a bug ? I'm on windows server 2008 sp2, sccm 2007 sp2. What should be the "good" ACLs on that folder ? Oh, and I tried, removing PSP and WDS many times. Still same issue.....

Thx Anyweb!! You pointed me to the right direction .... in fact, I searched for the client in the All systems collection and found 2 records. One was obsolete, probably due to many reinstalation or something. So I delete that record and retry and it now works. Thx again. I should say, by looking at how many times you answer questions here, you seem to be some kind of genius! Good day ! David

Hi everyone, I'm trying to build my first XP image with OSD. Booting from PXE. The computer I use is in the SCCM database. I did deploy Windows 7 on it many times with OSD, booting from PXE. Everything works great. But I can't do the same if I push an XP OS to that computer. I have followed every step outlined in this guide : http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/570-how-can-i-deploy-windows-xp-sp3-using-sccm-2007-sp1-part-1/ It stops right after WinPe is initializing the network connections. smsts.log is attached and it contains this error : Client does not have an ID. Please ensure you have created a record for this client in the SMS database. Invalid advise flags (Error: 80040001; Source: Windows) I'm stunned since this computer is in the database, it is a known computer, known MAC address, known GUID. Any ideas ? Thx so much ! smsts.log
