hmm it doenst work man so one more time... 1. for each driver i have to make a package and a program right ? 2. all driver packages i have to add to 1 group DRIVERS right ? 3. the group i have to add to my TS by step drivers right ? 4. on the client write wmic in cmd so i get name like ESPRIMO 7950 (ok that i already know) 5. in this step i have to write : with SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystem WHERE model Like "%Computers%" doensts work but how can i to do them to search himself out which driver he needs ? have i to name the drivers like the Hardware model ? and which commandline ? the one with select doesnt work... task sequence broke up with 0x0000.. error greetz

hi niall thanks for your reply. yes it looks good, but i need to user 1 TS for each system which is different, so i have to paste in that 1 TS all these DRIVER Groups of all different systems, and he would choice himself the right one for each system.. so like : now he's building a DELL PC so he see "thats dell i use this step and skip the other driver group steps" ?? thanks

Hi Guys, i got some problems. we got 6 different types of machines in our testlab... now i want to use just 1 TS for build all systems with windows 7, but i have driver problems. so my question is can i place all 6 HardDisk drivers for each of that machines in mine BUILD TS ??? how can i make that the Driver step in the TS searches himself the right driver for each machine so f.e. i advertise the TS to all 6 machines, now he's installing a SIEMENS FUJITSU machine with that TS, how can i make that the step of the TS (Drivers) see ""ok this is a siemens fujitsu machine, i have to give him this driver"" is that possible ?? otherwise i have to make 6 TS for each machine with the associated/right driver but that isnt so cool :S can you help guys ?? thanks a lot

so i captured now my existing system (build), and use that captured wim. but how can i make a xml with WSIM ?? and add my wim to that xml ? ike these steps here 1to1 ? http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1660-customising-windows-7-deployments-part-1/ or is this also possible ? add th captured WIM to the TS with the xml as (sysprep step) ?

ok i copied the CD to the network share, now i can customize my system and export this wim or how do you mean that mate ?

hey guys thanks for the replies... looks a bit hard for that for sure i can try it to do it like so, but is there really no chance to do that easier with USMT just to copy the state of the system and use them for others :S ? Open that and connect the .wim file to it. hmm that thing is, i dont have a wim file of the master machine, or is there on the system lokal the actualized wim file with all settings and stuff i've configured ? my target is to get a WIM file which is already with all that settings so i could distribute this wim to all other systems not ? thanks guys

yes how kinom say, i miss registry entries, background logo, folders and files... settings like language, time and etc. (not at all) i've done it 3 weeks ago but i missed pretty much except the installed software like adobe stuff etc. the background worked after a while (dont know how/why) but my friend isnt here right know ask him tomorrow for other info he missed also many things on it so how can i migrate a state of a machine to others if you say with USMT its the wrong one :S hmmm... with capture it also dont go bcs he dont capture everything.. hmm more info i just created a workstation which is in AD i changed some registry stuff (UAC OFF ETC. etc.) programs, folders/files, settings like background resolution, path's and stuff like that such like a normal user workstation thanks guys

hey kinom, yes the normal Capture OS is working... but he dont capture everything thats the problem, thatswhy i wanted use USMT to capture every little setting on that system u know greeetz

Yes but i need to use this "basic capture" for 500+ clients. i cant do everything over task sequences, so i decide to create a basic OS state, with all things which our users need. so i captured the os, but i saw that not everything was captured, then i heard that with USTM you can migrate also settings and stuff. so i would like to do this how said : i have a complete configured system, now i need to make a WIM of them, that i can build other computers with that WIM.. that all users get all basic stuff like programs, all kind of settings etc. u know... and i cant decide that, my boss said make a standard machine and this "standard machine" have to be as a kind basic on all clients, and the other stuff like 3th party apps and programs and other things they get normally over a TS how you said, but that basic i need on all computers. can you help kinom ? how can i use that 4 USMT options, for capturing the system state and save it somewehere that i can use that WIM file thanks a lot

Hi guys i see here many of USMT Tutorials, but i dont need to migrate my OS to a higher version. i configured now a Windows7 system for business uses, i need to use this BUILD as a master for other computers like a "basic installation with all drivers software etc which is alerady installed" so my questions is how can i migrate this Windows 7 OS state of that computer, that i can use the .wim (with all installed things) for other computer that every PC has this state of OS ? can i just create a new task sequence with all "4" USMT options in it ? and capture the system to get the systems wim for install ? i made a USMT package of c:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\USMT\X86 thats rigt aight ? when i migrate the status of the system how i can i store the wim on the server ? or do i missapprehend something ? i tried it know with the first 2 steps request user state and capture user state, but he ran in an error... do i need the other 2 steps when i just want to store the user state (WIM) somewhere ? i want to use that as a basis and not directly migrate-..

Hi so i tried to add an user over TS but that doenst work. You said, i have to place the CMD command somewhere after the build of the system. Firstly i have placed the CMD User add step at least after "Setup Windows and Config Mgr" then i got the error after rebooting (Picture 1 after Reebot other Error Picture 3) So newly i have placed the CMD step directly after "Configure Network Settings" but i got an error (last Picture) --> are my CMD Useradd commandos right or somewhere an error ?? thanks a lot -- no its a physical machine
