  1. Daniz, I created a new Boot image, & tried to reduce the drivers imported. I distributed it to the PXE share & all my models, both older ones & the new one's boot alright with it. Thanks for your help.
  2. Thank you Daniz, I will try out what you have suggested. Thanks for the information provided.
  3. Hi, I hope someone can help me out with their past experiences with SCCM Boot images. I created a custom boot image, using MDT 2010, which has network drivers included for about 15 models. All this while it has been working perfectly. I have latelty received a set of new models from Lenovo, & since then i have added network drivers for these new models in the same boot image. All of the new models pickup the old boot image & everyting works well. I am able to deploy the windows 7 OS onto them. The issue is after adding network support of these new models in my boot image, my previous models (approximately 5 models ) do not work, they boot up using the same boot image, but when I hit "ipconfig" using the F8 key, i donot get any ip address & the system reboots. To resolve this issue, I created a new boot image containing network drivers of only the new models i have received from Lenovo & distruibuted it to PXE DP, but i am having problems getting the new models to boot to this second boot image. Although in the Task sequence properties, i have selected the second boot image, yet when i go for PXE boot, my new models still pickup the old boot image, which does not support them. I am not getting these new models to boot from the second boot image that has its drivers, can anyone helpout please. Cant we use different boot images for different task sequences ? Is Multiple Boot image use supported by SCCM 2007 ? I am using SCCM 2007 R3. Thanks for your time.
  4. Hi, Thank you for this post. It is indeed very useful. I tried both online & offline mode in USMT. I have not achieved 100% success. I have to migrate a Windows 7 Pro system to Windows 7 Pro. USMT is considered as a good tool for this PC refresh scenario. The only issue is that I have two partitions in the source computer, & the user profile (My Documents, Desktop, favourites, etc) is pointing to the D:\Users & not C:\Users, using the registry (My Company's requirement). When the source computer is migrated to Windows 7 again, the image that is applied to it, too has two partitions with User profile pointing to D:\Users (only data in user profile like My Documents, Desktop, favourites, etc). The issue I face is that although i am able to get my user profile back, in terms of (My Documents, Desktop, favourites, etc), I happen to loose many files in the root of C drive. For example, if i had placed ten files & folders in the root, C drive, post migration i can see only one file restored. The remaining files that didnt get restored are having extensions such as *.exe, *.pdf, *.zip. Am i missing anything ? Also can you pls assist me to migrate network printer settings as well from window 7 to Windows 7. I would really appreciate some help on this subject.
