Windows 10 1607 language pack problem

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've big problem with language packs in win 10 1607. My company has several factories in 3 countries and in every factory are people from all this countries. We have several hot desking solutions so in every PC I need all language packs installed.

With Windows 7 and 8.1 everything works ok. I installed all language packs in "create image" TS and after deployment, GPO set user interface to specific one. I have to disable LPRemove task in task scheduler to prevent deleting language packs.

I'm working now on deploing Windows 10 1607 and... This solution doesn't work.

I installed all language packs using dism /online but after deploying image all language packs seems to be broken. I can find files in windows and system32 directory, i can run lprsetup to see packages but there aren't packet sizes next to packet names. After reinstaling packages by lprsetup everything works ok. So I change my TS and replace dism /online by lprsetup. I found only one diference, I can see packet sizes in lprsetup but languages still doesn't work.

System and lp packages are 1607 and 64bit.

I cannot deploy language packs in deploy image stage because it takes about 20 minutes to deploy all of them.

When I deployed only one lang pack and set all locales in answer file everything works OK. is it a bug?

I use latest SCCM with MDT u2.

regards

MJ

ok, I figured it out :)

looks like "restrict UI language" settings doesn't work in W10 1607. When I set it manually everything works. I'll write script to set this setting.

Edited:

On clean policy works... looks like some settings from other policies are blocking language selection
