Installing Programs

Hey guys

 

I followed your superb guides and installed SCCM on server 2008. I didnt realise there was so much to it. Thanks for the help.

Im wondering if you could help me with two (kind of) problems.....

 

1) i am installing FileZilla to a client and when i download the package from SCCM server it is taking 27 mins to download it even tho it is only 4megs. Is this standard or is there anything i can do about it?

 

2) I also installed Foxit reader and it installed it to teh following location (C:\Windows\Temp\fox328.tmp) and is not showing up in add/remove programs. There is also a folder called C:\Windows\prefetch which i presume is from when it downloaded it from server???

Any idea why?

That certainly sounds like a long time, I guess it depends on whether the client and the server are in the same site ? In any case, you can check the CAS.log file on the client. You should find it in %SYSTEMROOT%\CCM\Logs , and that will tell you where the software is being downloaded from.

As for Foxit reader, it doesn't sound like it's installed. Again, the CAS.log file might give you more clues as to what happened. For information, the file in the Prefetch is used by Windows to speed up your system.

both are on the same domain. i will have a look at the log files alright. and post em up and see what replies i get. i got handed the task of installing SCCM in our site. the last bloke couldnt get SMS working so in the last two days ive at least got further than him. go me....

Log files from the ContentTransferManager log below looks like the files was successfulyl downloaded....

anywhere else i should be looking??
