  1. Anyone?? I am wanting the same thing. we are on R2. we are going to be creating custom collections for software deployments and need to come up with a collection for VM's that have Device affinity set on them (for persistent pools) and one for Vm's without UDA set (for floating pools). any help would be much appreciated. thanks
  2. UPDATE: I was able to accomplish this by creating IF statements and task sequence variables based on DefaultGateway001 that is captured in the Gather script. If defaultGateway001 is not equal to one of the gateways I have defined, it installs the English OS and if it is equal to one of the gateways I have defined, it installs the full Spanish OS with SP1. I also filtered out Office the same way. I had to play around with several different types of IF statements before I was able to get it working correctly on a consistent basis, but it works now...
  3. ok, well thanks anyway. I was hopeing it was going to be an easy solution. I will try to just put 'if" statements in the conditions of each of the OS's and then create a task sequence variable that states "equals this subnet..." apply this OS and then one oin the other OS and state "if not" in this subnet, apply this OS. hopefully it will be that easy.. I will update after i test.... and by the way, we do utilize some of the MDT scripts, just do not do our task sequence thru MDT.
  4. well, unfortunalty that is not an option we have decided to do. It is installed only because it is a requirement, but we do not do any deploy and capture stuff. the way we update our OSD "image" is to create a new sccm package for whatever software we are updating in the "image" and add it in the task sequence so all new machines get it and then we will advertise it to the all windows 7 collection so we make sure all older machines get it also. Microsoft came onsite and suggested with our enviornment of over 190 remote locations around the world that an SCCM task sequence would be more condusive to our enviornment over MDT. so..... no ideas on how I can complete the task I am up against??? thanks
  5. yes, but that deals with MDT task sequence and deploy and capture i believe. Acturally what I am trying to accomplish is to have 2 seperate OS packages within a single SCCM task sequence and filter it off subnet as to which to install. The reason why, is that in our English image is win7 64bit NON SP1 (we started deploying it before it was really tested and now we have to go back and test with all our apps like SAP and such) for the Mexican office, they have not tested any of their applications for windows 7 yet, so I want to start with sp1 and a spanish win7 64 bit, but need to querry off subnets as to which OS to deploy. I have already created a whole seperate task sequence for our French offices with sp1 and office sp1 due to the fact that they required their software to be in French if it was available. so, we currently have 2 seperate task sequences to maintain and since the Mexican doesn't require any software (other than OS and office) to be Spanish, we would like to wrap that up in our main Task sequence. I tried to put a screen shot of our task sequence for a beeter idea of what I am refering to, but not sure how to post pictures or files here. thanks
  6. Hello, We are using SCCM task sequence to deploy windows 7 Enterprise 64bit and the standard software for our base. We do not use a deploy and capture or MDT or anything like that. Our task sequence is via SCCM only. We only use MDT via the task sequence to run some of the lite touch scripts and so forth. I am trying to incorporate a few of the language packs (French and Spanish) for certain subnets and am looking for the TS variable to filter on installing the language packs to the people that need them. we use the "apply operating system from an original installation source" on the "apply operating system image" task. I would appreciate any help I can get on this. Most of the info I can find on this subject relates to deploy and capture or MDT task sequence situations. Thanks again in advance.
