  1. Ummm...are you trying to post a link to your report server?
  2. My question is about the hard copy. In the web version we have links to each level of the report. That's great, but if I want to take a pdf to a meeting? I only know how to print the level of the report that I am actually looking at. If I want to print the entire report, do I have to drill down to each level and print? Is there an easier way to do this?
  3. I really appreciate your taking the time to help me out. This thing really confuses the hell out of me sometimes.
  4. It looks like the report might be based on the first two MACs associated with each client from lowest MAC to highest. So, it's just grabbing the first two that it sees. In my case 00:05:9A:3C:78:00 - Cisco VPN clients is the lowest value MAC on the clients popping up in the report. On a client I am looking at right now the next MAC is 00:21:6A:3C:1F:EC which is the wireless NIC. This pattern applies to many of the clients on our domain. There don't seem to be any problems. I guess I'm just wondering if this is going to present a problem of any kind, say, with software reports etc. Also, is there a way to clean it up so that SCCM only considers the main NIC for a unique MAC?
  5. I will check that out for sure. I bet you're correct. Thanks for the reply!
  6. I recently upgraded to SCCM 2012 RTM. During the pre-req check I was notified that there were Client Duplicate IDs. The install went fine (as far as I know), but I ran the Computers with duplicate MAC addresses report and found that many of the clients showed up having two or more MACs one unique and these - 00:05:9A:3C:78:00 - which seems to be for the IPSEC cisco VPN client we use. 00:05:9A:3C:7A:00 - which is for a SSL cisco VPN client. 00:50:56:C0:00:01 - which I think is attatched to VMplayer that is installed on some of the clients My questions are these 1) Is this going to screw with the reports? 2) Do I need to somehow remove these other MACs ? 3) If I do need to remove them how the heck can I do that? 4) Is this even what the warning was trying to tell me? Attached is a copy of the report for what it's worth. Thanks, for your time. MAC-dupes.pdf
  7. So, now I've messed with this thing so much I've completely screwed myself. I made some changes and now when I tried to update distribution points for my boot image I get this: Error: Boot image to update: • Microsoft Windows PE (x64) Error: Actions to perform: • Add ConfigMgr binaries • Enable Windows PE command line support • Add drivers Error: Failed to import the following drivers: • Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection • Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection • Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection • Intel® ESB2 SATA AHCI Controller • Intel® ESB2 SATA RAID Controller Error: The wizard detected the following problems when updating the boot image. • The SMS Provider reported an error.: ConfigMgr Error Object: instance of SMS_ExtendedStatus { • Description = "Failed to make a copy of source WIM file due to error 112"; • ErrorCode = 112; • File = "e:\\nts_sccm_release\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspbootimagepackage.cpp"; • Line = 4275; • ObjectInfo = "CSspBootImagePackageInst::PreRefreshPkgSourceHook"; • Operation = "ExecMethod"; • ParameterInfo = "SMS_BootImagePackage.PackageID=\"CCM00004\""; • ProviderName = "WinMgmt"; • StatusCode = 2147749889; }; ...so much fun. As usual any help would be appreciated. I'm going to look for a gun to stick in my mouth.
  8. That makes sense, man. Thanks. Am I correct in assuming that the update step is meant to prevent having to deal with bloated images. In other words you could keep the same 2.x GB install image on your server and add updates as necessary during the build?
  9. Just thought I'd throw it out there. I've gotten so much from the forum and the instruction I felt I should at least try to contribute something other than annoying questions. I still haven't got mine to work. I think I have something screwed up with the updates step in the sequence. If you have a moment and can look at my previous post about the update string maybe you could offer up a suggestion. I did not configure my sccm site for updates because we have a wsus server in our environment already. I'm thinking this might be coming back to haunt me now. Glad you got it to work though.
  10. Did you remember to distribute content after you made your changes? I've been caught by that one before.
  11. Hmmm...that's interesting. Did you point it to your wsus server. I thought I did the same thing, but when I updated the string I still had no luck. Would you mind posting an example of how you formatted the string in your case? I did mine this way: SMSMP=myWsusServer.mydomain.com Does that look incorrect?
  12. I do have an "Apply Device Drivers" step in my task sequence as part of "Build the Reference Machine". It is physical hardware - laptop HP 8560w - I have included just the x64 drivers for Intel 82579LM NIC, ESB2 SATA AHCI Controller and ESB2 SATA RAID controller. Just after booting into win pe the drivers are there, verified with ipconfig and diskpart from CLI, but sometime before the image can be captured, post OS installation, I no longer have network.
  13. I am having the exact same problem. I believe, even though I have added the correct drivers to the boot image I am loosing my NIC sometime before this part of the task. I quick look at the log (which I can admittedly barely make sense of) the first error I see is this: ==========[ TsProgressUI started in process 2940 ]========== TsProgressUI 3/2/2012 3:06:15 PM 2420 (0x0974) Command line: "C:\Windows\CCM\TsProgressUI.exe" /Register:WinPE TsProgressUI 3/2/2012 3:06:15 PM 2420 (0x0974) Registering COM classes TsProgressUI 3/2/2012 3:06:15 PM 2420 (0x0974) sbModulePath = C:\Windows\CCM\TsProgressUI.exe TsProgressUI 3/2/2012 3:06:15 PM 2420 (0x0974) Unregistering class objects TsProgressUI 3/2/2012 3:06:15 PM 2420 (0x0974) Shutdown complete. TSMBootstrap 3/2/2012 3:06:15 PM 868 (0x0364) It's seems that after the OS installs the NIC and Storage drivers are no longer there. One question I have is how does the task keep running if it looses network? Is it running from the host at this point? And, how do I get the drivers to "stick"? Where the heck are they going?
