  1. Worked it out. Turns out that you have to secure erase the 500GB and the 32Gb drive before you can use SCCM or even a windows CD.
  2. Please can anyone help me. I am going crazy trying to get this to work.
  3. That is what I had first but had the same issue.
  4. Can anyone please help? I have no idea how to get this to work.
  5. Making my own post in stead of following this one I have a few HP 820 G1's that have a 500GB spinning disk and a 32GB flash card and I have not been able to deploy to them at all with SCCM 2007. I have imported the sata drivers and created a new TS just for this model while testing and I have it set as shown in the screens below follows. What I have noticed is that when booting with the HP image it only shows one drive as it is in cached mode. If I push the TS to it then it partitions it, names the drive (and i think formats it fine) but will fail the TS (unable to find a log for it). I have the BIOS set to legacy (comes like that) and the Msata is set to allow boot. I have tried every possible combination i can find but have no idea what the hell to do. Would anyone please be able to help me with this?
  6. I know this thread is a little old but it is the only information that I have been able to find that is close to my problem. 7. OK that was stupid. I just had to refresh the Site Systems and then it showed up. I still can not see any of the files copying over to the new server. SCCM is installed, but I can only see a folder for SCCM (data) and SMSPKGSIG and this is empty. Can anyone tell me what might be missing? it's SCCM 2007 on a Windows 2008 R2 server. I have been trying all this since friday but can not get any closer to it working. If I look in the Site Status logs there is nothing failing that relates to teh install.. Please any help welcome as I am at a stand still with out this server.
  8. I am trying to rebuild a secondry site that died and when I am setting it up I am getting the error below and have no idea how to get past it. That is the name of the old server but I must use this name again. Please can anyone help? I didn't get a single result from google about this issue so don't even know where to start.
  9. OK, sounds like it's way above my skill level.. I will just have to deal with it.. When you say as of the last heart beat, what heart beat is that? i Just want to make sure that it is up to date before I run the report, and I know the other admin disabled a few of these...
  10. Would anyone please be able to help me with a report that gives me all the computers with there last logged on user and the last logged on time? I am currently using this but it does not tell me the last logged on time.. SELECT distinct sys.Netbios_Name0 ComputerName, sys.user_name0,ipsub.IP_Subnets0, ip.defaultIPGateway0, sys.AD_site_name0 ADSite from v_R_system sys inner join v_GS_Network_Adapter_Configur IP on sys.ResourceID=IP.ResourceID inner join v_RA_System_IPSubnets ipsub on sys.ResourceID=ipsub.ResourceID where sys.resource_domain_or_workgr0 = 'AUASCARLSON' and sys.obsolete0=0 and ip.defaultIPGateway0 is not NULL and ipsub.IP_Subnets0 is not NULL; It is not that important that the last logged on user be extremely up to date as this is to find machines where someone has left and a new user has the laptop so they most likely have been using it for a month or so..
  11. Worked perfect, can't believe it was a dumb version mismatch. Turns out the first one I had was for versions up to vista but the other one was windows 7 only.
  12. Damn it! wouldn't you know the first one that I try from HPDM worked! Seems to be a newer one that what I was using.. Sometimes it pays to go back to basics. Thanks for the help, I wouldn't have done that without the prompt. I'll throw it to SCCM and hopefully everything goes OK.
  13. OK just to clear but i'll try this anyway. What I have done I have done a search and it appears that the required file is sp46134.exe So I downloaded and ran this file (just ran the EXE manually on the laptop) it brings up the install and runs through fine with no errors. But in device manager it will still say those drivers are not there. I hope this makes sense as I am never very good at explaining myself. What you say to do: Download all the drivers for the 6910p and install them one by one and hope that one works then use that in sccm. I am just trying that now and see how I go but just wanted to make sure I was reading that right,
  14. I used that first to get drivers (and i get all other models with that) but for this model it applies to many or something cause I end up as out of system resources. SO i used http://catalog.update.microsoft.com and just got the drivers that I needed and it seems to be working but I just can not work out these 2 drivers...
  15. I really need some help on these ones. I have a HP Compaq 6910p and I just can not get these drivers to install. I got all the others from http://catalog.update.microsoft.com and this got rid of the "out of resources problem" that I was having. When I look up these Hardware IDs it looks like they are for the Intel AMT LMS_SOL for AMT 3.0 but upon installing these manually (setup.exe) they do not seem to be for these two items, can anyone help me get these last 2 in place? PCI Serial Port PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A07&SUBSYS_30BE103C&REV_0C PCI Simple Communications Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A04&SUBSYS_30BE103C&REV_0C
  16. Looks like that is the solution But I was hoping for something more dynamic as its a lot to manage. The other option is to use MDT with SCCM to do it dynamically but that seems like even more effort at this stage. Heres the link if anyone is interested - http://blogs.technet.com/b/deploymentguys/archive/2009/08/17/location-deployment-wizard-for-configmgr-2007.aspx Perhaps if I get everything else working the way it should be I will revisit this.
  17. Is there anyway of doing this by applying the unattened.xml with some kind of condition\filter? Kinda like how drivers are installed with a WMI condition..
  18. I have finally got my image deploying with drivers (well almost) but I need to change the default region settings from "English (United States)" to whatever is local for where the image is being deployed. i.e. "English (Australia)" if it comes from the Australian DP or "China (Traditional, Hong Kong S.A.R.)" if it comes from Hong Kong DP or "English (New Zealand)" if it comes from New Zealand DP and so on.. Is this possible some how? Maybe it can apply the same settings that are on the DP? Any one got any ideas on how to manage this? Or I could crate a different TS\Collection for each place but would still need to change the region after the image is deployed as I only want to manage one image. Any ideas welcome as I have no ideas on how to organise this..
  19. I am trying to get windows 7 deployed on some old HP laptops. I have the following models 610 (about 10) 620 (about 40) 630 (our new model) (about 10 so far) 6910p (hundreds) nc6400 (about 30) 8400p (about 20) 8460 (our new model) (about 20) Now out of these the main one that I wish to get working is the 6910p I have followed many guides on how to do this but they all fail for me (assume it's me ) This being the main guide I followed, but it seems to install to much on the laptop as I run out of IRQs I was hoping that there would be someone on here that has HP model that can help as I have been doing this on and off for 3 months and just can not seem to get my head around it. Windows What steps I have used I have had to use the HP operating disk so that we do not have to provide the windows key for each machine Created a build and capture task sequence. Captured and stored on network. Deploys OK, but sucks as it has no drivers or updates (as another department manages WSUS separately). Drivers What steps I have tried. Install the HP Softpaq Download Manager. Select the required model of laptop (in this case 6910p x86) Download all the drivers and unpack them into another folder (This downloads more then one driver type, eg AMD\Intel video driver and I assume that SCCM should only install the required\compatible one) Right click and select import drivers in SCCM 2007 and point to the path where HP Softpaq Download Manager placed all the downloaded drivers This is where I am missing something I think. I have noticed that on our server we have a folder called "Source_Drivers" that seems to have all the drivers in a folder such as "Intel Graphics driver 6.14.10.5029" and this is where I had created a folder to copy all the softpaqs that I had downloaded. However I have just noticed that there is also a folder called "SCCM Drivers" that has all the drivers in a folder with a name like "DAB2C841-57FE-4ADD-BAC0-A5C4D2B55D56" and this just jumped out at me as I just read this post on this site and in the pictures they are in the same format (although these are dell drivers so not sure if that matters) Can someone tell me what I should be doing for the next step?
  20. I was asked to run a report to get the MS software that is in use and have been hitting a wall left right and center. First I realised that windows 7 did not show on the report so found a fix pack for that. Then when I had that working I realiesed that asset intelligence sync point status was not connected, so fixed that issue. Now I find that only a third of the systems have the agent installed so are not showing on the report. I then select a few machines and right click and select install sccm client, this does not seem to work most the time I get an error about the MP (i will grab a copy when I get it next) So then I looked at the site status and saw that SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER is Critical. The errors that it is giving are "SMS Site Component Manager failed to reinstall this component on this site system." and "MP Control Manager detected MPsetup has failed to create the CCM_Incoming Virtual Directory." I have no idea what these mean, I have read through heaps of posts but none of it makes any sense to me. Anyone out there got any ideas for me?
  21. Now I have got this far how do I know if it has been pushed to my test machine and if the test machine has received it but cant run it or if there is any other kind of error? Is there a log somewhere that has this info?
  22. GOT IT! Stupid mistake. I didn't have my value in the "Criterion Properties".. as well as my slashes backwards Thanks guys! It was driving me crazy..
  23. I should also say that now when I right click on my computer I can see the groups listed.
  24. So I finally found "Queries" and ran "All active directory security groups" and inside there I can see my group that I created for the fonts. Even with knowing SCCM can find the group there is still nothing showing up in my collection. I also tried with my slashes around the other way as per BB24's suggestion..
