Where in SCCM/ MDT can I configure "use media hook"? I couldn't find this options in the creation of a TS. In the screenshot you see that the TS step "Apply Windows Settings" is disabled because we use OEM keys. When I activate this step the client get the correct name which is listed in the sccm device collection. The problem is that than the client will ask for a serial key. Hi Peter, thanks for your answer. With the OSDComputer variable I am supposed to set the client name automatically through sccm. The client should get the name of the imported device-object with the corresponding MAC address. How can I implement this step?

Hello, in my task sequence I use a variable "OSDcomputername" with the value "%_SMSTSMachineName%" to update the computername automatically. The computer information are imported under "devices". I tested the ts variable/ step after "partition disk" and after "Apply operating system" but the computer ask for the computername. Where is the problem? Edit: Only when I activate the step "apply windows settings", the client get the imported name of the sccm database. Because we use OEM Keys, I must disable this step. Thanks for your help. Wolfgang

Hey guys, I will wake up the clients in the network before windows 7 will deploy. But it doesn't work. Wake on lan is activated in properties of the site and in the task sequence I clicked on "send wake-up packets". What steps do I need to wake up and deploy the clients by sccm? Hello, at the moment I am testing sccm2012 because I have to deploy Windows 7 (with oem licenses) on a lot of exsting and new clients. I use a unattend.xml with that I disable/ skip the window to insert the windows 7 product key. Is there a chance that the client get the right computername and oem product key before it join the domain. Could the client search in a excel table (or small database) with its mac address for the corresponding computername and product key in the same line? With what toolkit (maybe MDT?) or script can I realize this? Thanks for your help Wolfgang

I found the reason for my problem. It is hard to believe it. I tested SCCM2012 in a virtual environment with vmware and the internal NIC of my (host-) client caused the errors. I don't know why. I realized it when I used a USB-NIC. Now it works! Thanks for your help Wolfgang

Hey guys, this week I was busy with errors of sccm. It is enough to drive one to dispair :-( I downloaded NIC driver from the Intel website and imported them with the NIC (from Fujitsu website) and Sata-controller driver in sccm. Than I included them in the boot images. The client still can't download the files from the sccm server :-( The same problem I have with a HP client (without driver of HP). I noticed that the client displays the sccm wallpaper for a long time (5-10minutes) until I can log in and choose a task. In a virtual machine I see the window after a few seconds. Is it a problem that the sccm is working in a vm with vmware workstation and the (fujitsu or hp) client is connected over a bridged NIC with the sccm server? Why you think that the NIC is the reason for the problem? I can't comprehend it, because the client get an ip adress and load the boot image at the beginning. Here is the actual smsts.log. No row which contains "BCD" has the status code 401 or 404. I just checked the smsts.log from task's of capture files for wim file "windows 7 x86", "windows 7 x64" and installation with a wim file (created with a virtual machine). -In smsts.log of capture files for wim file "windows 7x86" the error comes from a file of the x86 boot image -In smsts.log of capture files for wim file "windows 7x64" the error comes from a file of the x64 boot image -In smsts.log of install windows 7x64 with a wim file the error comes from the wim file At monday I will try it with another client. Thanks for your answer. I integrated the NIC driver but I get the same errors in smsts.log. I used the x64 and x84 boot image with the right driver. Why you think that it is the nic driver? Hey guys, when I want to create a WIM file or distribute Windows 7 with SCCM 2012 on a small Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Client I get the error message "80070002". The message appears after the HDD has been formatted and the window shows "Running action: Apply Operating System". The client get an IP Adress and the correct IP of the DNS Server and can ping the sccm server. I tested the OSD with a virtual machine. It works perfectly.
