  1. Hi, thanks for the great how-to! I'm wondering if there is a possibility to "change the size of all items" in control panel within the task sequence for all users. Due to the quite high resolution on that small screen it definitely makes sense to change it to "Medium - 125%" When changing it manually a log-off - log-on is needed. It would be nice to create a step in the TS which changes it for all users. Thanks in advance for any ideas!
  2. Hi, I have exactly the same problem but we are not using MDT or base variables in this case. Just a normal software installation within the TS. The issue happens randomly without any helpful information in the message queries or AppEnforce Log. Just this "Please choose a longer password" stuff as described above. It seems that the problem occurs frequently after installing CU1 for SP1. re-creating or coping applications does not help.
  3. Hello, I’m working in an environment with a CAS and three primary sites. The CAS and two of the primaries work fine but on one primary there is a memory problem. The amount of memory for the process “smsexec.exe” increases just after booting the server. After two hours it takes up to 8GB memory and finally decreases the memory of the SQL-server process and “kills” the server. On the other primary sites the process “smsexec.exe” just takes about 100MB memory. Additional information: SQL-server running on primary site server (no cluster etc.) 8GB dedicated RAM for SQL-server Total RAM of the server: 16GB All discovery methods disabled (except of “Heartbeat Discovery”) re-installation of that primary site server didn't help I know that there was a hotfix to solve that problem in SCCM2007. Is there something similar in SCCM2012? Does the installation of CU may helps? Thanks in advance for any ideas or help!
  4. I've found the solution. This behavior is a known issue that will be fixed in CU1 "When a dynamic list is used for the Install Application task sequence, not all deployment types will be installed. This issue occurs when one of the deployment types restarts the computer. In this case, any deployment type after the restart is not installed. The state messages that are associated with each application indicate Success. This issue can be seen most clearly in the smsts.log file on the client when the log file is filtered in the CMTrace for entries that contain the text "Installing application."" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2717295/en-us
  5. no, as far as I know there is no possibility to initiate a reboot within a dynamic software installation using the build-in step. Correct me if I’m wrong. I initiate the reboot by modifying the settings in the deployment type setting of the application. I set the return code 0 to “hard reboot”. The reboot does work within the Task Sequence but afterwards the installation of other software will not continue.
  6. Hello, We are using SCCM2012 RTM in an infrastructure with a CAS. To deploy department software within the task sequence we use collection variables. All applications that should be installed using that variables are marked with “Allow this application to be installed from the Install Application task sequence…” and there is no user interaction needed. When an application requires a reboot the reboot is done after the installation during the TS and the TS continues with other applications in the list afterwards. So, it seems that everything works fine but all applications that should be installed after the reboot won’t work. In the status message queries everything looks fine. There is no error message or something. But there are no files copied or installed. Is this a known bug? Or what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
