  1. I have a powershell script that removes the default Windows 8.1 Apps that I wish to run as part of the task sequence on my SCCM 2012 R2 server. Within the Task Sequence editor, when I click on Add > General > Run PowerShell Script I was expecting to just be able to enter the powershell script I wanted to run, instead it's asking me for a Package and the Script name. So I'm guessing from this I need to create a Package first but I've not been able to find any examples on what the Package settings should be - has anyone successfully run a PS Script within the task sequence in SCCM 2012 R2, if so can you tell me what settings you put in the Package please? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for that - I shall be taking a look at this over the next few days when I get a chance so will bear that in mind.
  3. What I would like to do is as follows: Configure Software Updates on the computers in our school computer suites - approx 400+ computers split in to around 23 different rooms. Software Updates must not be installed during the day as lessons are only 45 minutes long so if Windows Updates suddenly install and they reboot a computer it could take up to half of the lesson for them to install so they end up not being able to use a computer so I need to make sure they only ever install out of hours so to speak. So far I have added the Software Update Point role and all the Windows Updates are appearing in the All Software Updates section in the Software Library. Any tips on what I need to do next to achieve my goals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. For the last three weeks I have been learning about, installing, configuring and implementing SCCM 2012 R2! It's been a sharp learning curve and I am now at a stage where I have a standard 'Golden Image' ready to be deployed to over 400 computers within the next week or so (of which I have 5 days off) so that's going to be fun! I'm not messing about with different operating systems so it's going to be Windows 8.1 update 1 64bit or nothing. If it doesnt work on a suite of computers then they'll stay as they are with Windows 7. Any software not part of the standard Image will be installed as part of the task sequence so I have every angle covered. We've been wanting to use SCCM for a while now but we've never had enough time to do it properly, until now so to make sure I'm doing things the right way I thought it best to sign up to a forum - so here I am saying Hi!
