  1. Quick questions for this type of deployment. The purpose of this deployment is to install and later caputer the image that was just deployed and copy it back to the server. Now if you do that, you will only be able to use that image on one TYPE of hardware pc only because of the different (HAL) Hardware Abstraction Layer and so on. Is it possible to use that deployment to just install the operating system without capturing it later. I just want to deploy the operating system to multiple computers regardless of the hardware they are running, I want a gold image in other words. This process could install the base operating system regardless of hardware and later I can just create task sequences to deploy Software installations on the computer. The computer you used to deploy the Windows xp Sp3 files, was that a barebone machine without an OS. Please share your thoughts on this and what could be the best solution. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hey guys I seem to be having a little bit of issues as well regarding the Component Status. I have both the SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER and SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER , giving critical errors which Im not sure how to resolve. In my SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER , I keep gettings errors MP has rejected a policy request from GUID:2F96BE4A-5C12-4587-818C-2402E80DFFD0 because it was not approved. The operating system reported error 2147942405: Access is denied. Im not sure as to why I get this error, I sms account and server account are admins on all the boxes within the domain. The accounts are not locked out at all. What does this error mean exactly. Im not sure what policy its rejecting from the client. The next component status is Critical also. SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER. The error I keep receiving is = MP has rejected a policy request from GUID:EEB4CBAB-5074-4400-BFBB-02781E1B5096 because it was not approved. The operating system reported error 2147942405: Access is denied. They are both similiar errors within sccm. I have an idea that this is causing issue with my clients not receiving thier policies for advertisements on time. Can anyone guide me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hey thanks for your response. I have read up on the article and downloaded the tools. I have ran the tool and checked the logs, apparently the advertisement was deleted and not available since last year, if this is the case from running one of these tools, why would it have ran. The refreshing of the policy has been updated to update every 1 hour. I will see if this helps , and takes care of the issue. Would a client likely to cache a advertisement and then continue to run it even after it has been deleted and disabled. If the advertisement gets disabled. During the refresh of the policy it would tell the client that the advertisement is no longer available, is this correct. What is the exact process of this. thanks in advance.
  4. Hello everyone, I currently am facing an issue with sccm. I configured a advertisement about 4 months ago which indeed ran on all the computers. Now the issue seems to be that the advertisement continues to run even after I have disabled it. I later deleted the advertisement completely from the sccm server. Come to find out that there are still people running the advertisement. I dont know what exactly is causing this, perhaps the policy is not getting updated on the box, I checked the logs and I find that the package has been deleted within the logs, but still it runs. What else is there for me to verify that this doesnt run again. I would appreciate any help thanks.
