  1. Our SCCM installation has been up and going for about a year and a half. We are in the process of reimaging all of our computers for this school year and are now having problems with quite a few machines not PXE booting. We are getting this error on about one third of all machines: PXE-E55 ProxyDHCP service did not reply to request on port 4011 At first I thought it was one model and likely a client machine issue. I reset cmos, ran machine diags, updated bios fiddled with nic settings etc. I also reimaged to the new image via stand alone task sequence media. The machines all have connectivity when booted into windows. The other two thirds of the machines pxe boot and image fine using the same port, cable etc. I have looked in the smspxe log file after attempting to pxe boot a machine that works and one that does not - the entries are the same for both machines. Not sure what to look at next at this point. Jeff
  2. After the sysprep on the reboot it errors with a Windows PE Initialization failed with error code 0x80220014. This is on a dell 9020m or GX790 and both usb thumb or cd capture media. The same boot image works on both machines via PXE. Any thoughts?
  3. For now we are workgroup based. Boundaries are set up by IP subnet.
  4. We just setup our SCCM 2012 and are in the process of testing before client deployment to campuses. Prior to this we thick imaged via WDS. As part of the setup process we exported some of the WDS images and added them to the SCCM and created task sequences in order to image via PXE. As part of the task sequence the SCCM client is added to the machine. When I deploy the images thru SCCM via PXE the client installs ok. After approving the device in SCCM the client control panel pulls actions and tabs, ccm notification goes to enabled etc. On some of the images the client machine goes on to become managed and installs endpoint protection. On most of the images the machine never goes to managed and endpoint protection does not install. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?
  5. OK setting up the lmhost and host files got workgroup clients communicating on client install - thank you. Jeff
  6. We are working on deploying SCCM2012 on our network and have provisioned a VM and gone through the great guide here on Windows-noob. We are having problems getting clients to communicate with the site. All of our PC's are workgroup machines. Network discovery does not find any workstations. After manually installing the client on a workstation - communication with the site is not established and the client does not populate the site particulars. If we join the machine to the domain and install the client manually then communication does occur and the client is seen as active. Not sure how to determine if this is an account rights issue or nw infrastructure misconfiguration or? Jeff
