Hi everyone, Hope everyone is doing great and being safe! Need your expertise with an issue I am facing during domain join during OSD where clients are failing to join to the domain during OSD. Upon checking the netsetup log we found the below error: NetpValidateName: checking to see if 'XYZ.global.corp' is valid as type 3 name 10/07/2020 16:09:48:459 NetpValidateName: 'XYZ.global.corp' is not a valid NetBIOS domain name: 0x7b 10/07/2020 16:09:48:459 NetpCheckDomainNameIsValid for XYZ.global.corp returned 0x54b, last error is 0x0 10/07/2020 16:09:48:459 NetpCheckDomainNameIsValid [ Exists ] for 'XYZ.global.corp' returned 0x54b 10/07/2020 16:09:48:459 NetpJoinDomainOnDs: Domain name is invalid, NetpValidateName returned: 0x54b 10/07/2020 16:09:48:459 NetpJoinDomainOnDs: Function exits with status of: 0x54b 10/07/2020 16:09:48:459 NetpJoinDomainOnDs: NetpResetIDNEncoding =================================================================================== A surprise to our beliefs when we use the same Account and password and try to join the domain manually it was successful and it worked. Other logs such as Setuperr are not created and we have the above error only documented multiple times as a final error too. Hi everyone, Hope all are being safe and sound !! Need someone experience in setting up ip helpers for pxe boot as we are trying to establish the same in our environment but having some issues. Since we have our VLAN ranges and WDS server on different subnet and due to cost constraints we can’t set up a local WDS for this range we thought about going for up helpers for it . It’s already configured on switched by our network team but need someone expertise with the below : > after adding the vlan scope in our DHCP server do we still need to keep option 66 and 67 enabled or disable?? > if we implement ip helper from network side and keep the option 66 and 67 enabled at DHCP would it mess with the functionality?? Is it mandatory to get them disable?? > what are the changes we should be doing at DHCP side for this pxe boot using ip helper? Regards Shashi Dubey

Dear Sir, Hope you are doing good ! Yes sir the collection is based on a query where the devices are suppose to get populated in a collection which becomes a part of your domain and I have seen a wonderful article published by you on it few years back :). Sir we are doing everything fine and only the devices of a specific collection are not getting updated in all child collection even though upon checking they all are on domain.Yes all the devices are present in that OU sir. are we something wrong or missing something?? HI Everyone, Hope everyone is doing great and being safe! Want your help with an issues that i face frequently in the organisation during OSD and hope to have some expert advise on this. While reimagine a device as bare metal we have this query that once the device gets moved to a OU over domain it becomes the part of some specific collection which helps us to deploy some department wise software on it. But it happened so many that even a device becomes the part of that OU it just doesn’t get populated into into majority of collections. After checking the OU and domain all seems to be in place and even re joining the domain does not help much in this case.We have even checked the discover method and Delta discovery is designed to run in 15 min we even forced DDR but device won't get detected in that specific OU. Can someone help with their experience regarding this issue and why this happens and what should be done to eliminate this from happening. Regards, Shashi Dubey

Dear Sir, Yes this is a local management point also have the DP role enabled on it. yes the MP and computer being tried to have reimaged resides on the same IP or local subnet.Yes the application are successfully distributed to that DP and we have done it multiple times and notices no error. Sir this MP was working fine but suddenly after 20th of may it stopped registering the client to it when I checked registration log log of local site server I couldn't see any registration after 20th May. Also this is a preferred MP and none of the client connect to this MP for policy and chooses a Random one from the list.we have been reinstalled MP role on it and nothing happened MP control log shows MP is healthy. we are really out of option here and do not know what we should do next hope your expertise and vast experience could guide us :). Dear Sir, Thanks a lot for your time and involvement! My issue is we have computer failing to complete the task sequence properly as all of them fails to download at a step install application which is after the OS installation and domain join and client installation. We have management point locally in place and also we have the management point in the fallback but the client never picks these two MPS and connect a random one for the policy download. We even reinstalled the management point role but nothing made any difference here. I have been unable to find out why any of the client never contacts my local MP or fallback for policies and reaches a random one on it's own. Sir attaching the screenshot to show the error where it exactly fails hope this make the situation little clear and kindly let me know if there is any additional info needed on this :). HI Garath, Thanks for the instructions ! We have few AD and IP subnet in our environment and that too have been proposed to client for the change so we could have IP address all over the environments. For the specific issue we have only IP address range still having the issue with the Ip allocation. We even removed the fallback and have only single site server for the MP in our boundary group but still it won't pick the protected MP. Do we have have only the options to reinstall the MP or the entire site server as we too have the DP working on it. Regards, Shashi Dubey

HI Everyone, I hope this finds everyone in your best health! I have been facing a weird situation that I am facing during OSD and don't seem to have any answer to my doubt having googled everywhere so thought about putting it out here. Majority of my devices are failing during the OSD and upon checking the log it appears they are not reaching out to preferred nor fallback management point but a random one. I have checked the boundaries and boundary group and all seems to be in place from SCCM end but there is no answer to this. Upon deeply checking it installs driver package, image successfully after downloading the policy from random MP but fails to download random application having not been connected to any management point. Can someone help me understand why this is not reaching out to protected and fallback MP and what should be the reason behind it? Regards, Shashi Dubey

HI Peter, Kindly check the screenshot the Root cert is already inserted and attached are the options used for the site system. We have enabled the options use PKi certificate for authentication when available but are communication are chosen to be used either HTTP or HTTPS but on the face of below option are the clients communicating on HPPS would also use PKI certificate?? HI Everyone, I hoe this email finds you in your best health. I have been trying to fix an issue where the machines from a particular locations are failing to PXE boot giving an error which I haven't faced yet so I need your expertise to find out the root cause of it. For a specific site all the machines are failing to PXE boot and when we checked the log to find the exact reason for it it says: "AsyncCallbacl():WINHTTP_CALLBACK_STATUS_SECURE_FAILURE ENCOUNTERED. dwStatusInformationLength is 4. IPVSTATUSInformation is 0x20 WINHTTP_CALLBACK_FLAG_CERT_DATE_INVALID is set.. Error Received 0x80072f8f from winHttpSendRequest. I have checked everywhere and its is only happening for a specific location in our environment else everything else is working just fine. I hope I could have your expertise in figuring out what I am missing and how to make it go away? Regards, Shashi Dubey
