  1. .Any chance of getting this to work with Forefront TMG's ?
  2. Heres my situation - I cannot set up a domain joined server in the DMZ that would act as Management point for internet client I cannot set up a forest in the DMZ as a work around and set up trust between dmz forest and product forest. My root CA is in 2003 Standard server and I cannot create web server certifcates for IIS and set up https only MP inside the network. I wish the environment was atleast at 2003 enterprise for CA and i could create all the certs required and set up https only MP inside the network and open firewall to let internet clients talk https with MP inside the network. Since I cannot do any of that, can any one think of a way to set up Internet based client management and get it to work. Any help is much appreciated.
  3. If anyone has this error after enabling Asset intelligence on SCCM 2007 S2: you would need to install the hotfix below Asset Intelligence Catalog Sync Service Warning: 0 : Thu, 21 Jun 2012 23:43:26 GMT:WebException trying to enroll: Status = ProtocolError Asset Intelligence Catalog Sync Service Error: 0 : Thu, 21 Jun 2012 23:43:27 GMT:Exception attempting sync - The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2483225/en-us
  4. I know this is very common question but I don't see a straight forward answer anywhere, not on technet, not on connect so I am turning in to the right place, windows-noob . With more Mac's coming into enterprise environment, would there ever be a mac osx client or support from SCCM\Config Mgr 2012 ? I know about the quest extensions and third party tools and have tried them already. What do you guys do to manage Mac's in your environment. Please help. Thanks <Sorry I meant 2012 not 2011 in the topic>
  5. Hi guys I exported my OSD task sequence as a standalone media onto a USB flash drive. I received the message saying that USB media was created successfully. No error message. But when I boot a bare metal or old machine from the USB device, I get a message that says "Missing operating system". The same task sequence when exported as an ISO works fine. I am logged in as a user who is part of Administrators group. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. There are couple of error messages in AdminUi.log but if thats the issue I shouldn't be able to export the task sequence onto the USB. Tried multiple usb's, multiple laptops. Please help, what am i doing wrong ! :-( In the past I have been able to export the task sequence to USB and use it for imaging. This is not just with one USB drive. I have tried multiple USB's before posting for any help.
  6. No, only the NIC driver has been added to the SCCM driver package. We generally run an application "Lenovo Updates" that downloads and installs the latest drivers and that is how the reference machine was built. I tried doing a SCCM capture, but this does not copy all the custom settings, such as Taskbar Icons, Pagefile, power options and all that stuff to the default profile. These settings need to be copied to default profile so that any user who logs into the machine gets the same settings. Yes this is my first attempt at SCCM OSD. ----------- I sysprep'd a reference machine and captured new image using Imagex. This image deployed via SCCM joins the domain. I guess I did not sysprep the machine in Audit mode. This new image joins the domain but some of my configuration settings are missing, such as taskbar icons and internet explorer settings. When I deploy the same wim file manually through a USB it works great. Is SCCM overriding my changes or something ? How do I get this to work.
  7. The NIC driver is installed after imaging. Yes, it is part of boot image as well. The reference machine (Lenovo T410) I built has all the correct drivers from Lenovo updates.
  8. Hi Guys Here's my situation. I set up a reference machine with Win 7 Enterprise, Office 2010,all security updates and updated lenovo drivers. Sysprep'd the machine and used Imagex to capture the image "image.wim" Now I am deploying the captured image with SCCM on a similar hardware. The "Apply Operating System" installs the OS perfectly. But, the "Apply Network Settings", does not join it to the domain. I had the NIC driver installed on the reference machine when I captured it. Looking at smsts.log shows that the machine communicates with the sccm server. I could ping the server as well, so it has the network driver. After the "Set up windows and configmr" step in my task sequence, the system reboot. After the reboot, the task sequence does not resume and I see the log on screen in windows. When I log in, there is no SCCM Client installed on the machines. I do not see any errors in smsts.log. How should I troubleshoot this issue ? Please let me know if you have any suggestions Here's my task sequence. THe Apply Driver package contains only the NIC driver, I added it after I had problem deploying the image. I have tried the task sequence by disabling this step as well and the results remain the same. smsts.log
