  1. I've got the same problem on a Lenovo W541 with an SSD. It only seems to occur during PXE boot - booting off of media is fine. It does not fail 100% of the time - maybe 75%.
  2. I know this thread is old, but I was experiencing a similar issue and have resolved it. First off, with Autodesk products, I found the admin install utility would create huge packages with tons of tiny files. Configuration Manager doesn't do very well with these, so I ultimately wound up compressing them using 7-zip and writing a script that would decompress the files, run the install, and delete the extracted copy. It takes longer to do the install, but most Autodesk products compress to about 50% of their original size, so the software download is much faster. This especially helps our VPN users who install software when they are out of the office. I also had the "Package 'XXXXXXXX' is found in active queue, will try it later" message in distmgr.log. When I used the Distribution Point Job Queue Manager tool that is part of the 2012 R2 toolkit package, I found that there were no jobs in the queue, but I kept getting these messages in the distmgr.log file. I finally just restarted the sms executive service and distmgr started processing jobs normally. Hope that helps anyone else who finds this thread. --Russel
  3. Strange that I never found your particular post. To be honest, I didn't search much - I assumed it was a 64-bit file system redirection issue and already had a number of work-arounds to deal with 64-bit file system redirection in other packages. As soon as I tried using the 64-bit executables with the RSAT tools, they worked fine. I guess it just comes down to me assuming it was related to using the 32-bit version of WUSA and DISM, and assuming I could fix the issue myself faster than I could find someone else who already had. Thanks for pointing me to your write-up. --Russel Riley
  4. Hi all, Searching the web, I've not found anyone who was able to successfully install the RSAT tools in Windows 7 using SCCM. Based on a post here http://trevorsullivan.net/2009/11/19/deploying-windows-7-rsat/, I've been able to successfully deploy the RSAT tools to Windows 7 SP1 x64 machines using SCCM. Here is how: 1. Download the RSAT tools from Microsoft from here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7887 2. Create a package in SCCM with the attached .cmd file and the .msu file you downloaded from Microsoft. 3. Create an install program in SCCM with the following command line: c:\windows\sysnative\cmd.exe /c "install.cmd" 4. Under requirements, select All x64 Windows 7 5. Under Environment, select that the program can run whether or not a user is logged on and run with administrative rights 6. Advertise with normal software distribution procedures. This has worked for me, but might require some tweaking to suit your environment. The real key for me was realizing that you have to run the 64-bit versions of WUSA.exe and DISM.exe to install in 64-bit Windows (hence the calls to C:\Windows\Sysnative\cmd.exe) Hope that helps. --Russel Riley
