  1. Thanks Jaybone, I've tested this in my task sequence and I can finally patch office in my build and capture! It shouldn't be this difficult, spent ages looking at it! cheers, Al
  2. Adding the updates to the updates folder doesn't work as the service pack is in there and files get overwritten. When I come to update after the build it shows as still requiring the service pack because it was overwritten by the slipstreamed updates. The only way I can think to get it to work is to download each patch individually and install them as a step in the task sequence. Can anyone help?
  3. I have various advertisements that target different collections of clients, these will install things on to the client that I don't want in the build image. I have tried deploying the patches using the updates folder but that doesn't seem to work if you use an office customisation script. This is far more difficult than it needs to be. There must be a straightforward way to get office updates into a build
  4. Hi, Can anyone explain a way to update office during a build and capture task sequence please? I can advertise windows updates to the correct collection and they are found and installed but office updates just don't get applied. I know when using windows update you have to enable updates for other products, is there something else I need to do? Thanks, Al
  5. After intense googling I found this guys site: http://www.danrichings.com/ I installed the microsoft patches as suggested and it is working fine now. This may well crop up for others who use 2008R2. cheers, Al
  6. Hi, Thanks for the post but do you have any idea what would cause this issue when trying to omport the drivers? Error: Failed to import the following drivers: • \\******\drivers$\Windows 8\Surface 3\Intel\SerialIO\1.1.165.1\iaLPSS_GPIO.inf - The selected driver is not applicable to any supported platforms. \\******\drivers$\Windows 8\Surface 3\Intel\SerialIO\1.1.165.1\iaLPSS_I2C.inf - The selected driver is not applicable to any supported platforms. I get the sam eerror for quite a lot of different drivers. SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 Thanks, Al
  7. Hi, Can you explain how you deal with the supersedence of patches please? when patches get superseded it appears that it ruins the deployment compliance view and I am unable to see the actual compliance until I delete the expired patches and the clients eventually report back. Have I misconfigured something? thanks
  8. Hi, I have various update deployments and some of them are automatic rules etc. I have an issue where on a couple of the deployments the status doesn't seem to be correct in the monitoring tab (picture1) If I look in the software deployment tab it shows it shows what are presumably the correct results (picture2): Is there a reason why the 2 statuses don't match? It appears to be like this for another deployment too. I originally thought that it may have been because there were quite a few expired updates in the deployment but after taking them out it has not made a difference to what is displayed. Can anyone shed any light on this please? Thanks, Al
  9. I've resolved this - the app was set to required. This must have prevented the install.
  10. Hi, Can anyone help with this? I've setup a trial for windows intune, done all the prereqs etc and my test windows 8 phone enrolls fine and appears in sccm with no problems. The issue I have is that the company portal doesn't appear on th ephone and the applications seems to have an issue as shown in the attached pic. It is definitely a windows 8 phone - nokia lumia 1320. Can anyone shed any light on this please? Thanks in advance, Al
  11. Hi, It appears that new usb drives are being detected as fixed disks instead of removable devices. This obviously prevents SCCM from deploying them as task sequence media. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I'v etried to make the disk bootable and then copy across the media that I built as an .iso and extracted but haven't had any luck. cheers, Al
  12. Hi, Does anyone know how to enable unknown computer support but suppress the OSDComputerName variable prompt? I use a script to prompt for computer name which is more efficient (it sets certain characters to capitals etc.) and don't want the popups that the unknown computer support enforces. If I untick the support button then obviously the machine won't PXE boot. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Al
