  1. I am in the early stages of an enterprise wide SCCM 2007 roll out. I can't use ConfigMgr 2012 as we do not have Server 2008 in our Production environment at this stage and it's not likely to happen in the medium term. I have multiple AD domains spread all over the county, a lot with sporadic and limited external connectivity owing to how they are deployed. It looks like I'll be having to create around 50 SCCM 2007 servers in the short term with perhaps another 40 to follow. Noting the geographical dispersion of the AD domains and their at times limited/poor accessability I want to have VMware templates with as much pre-configuring and pre-installation as possible to reduce costs both time and money wise. The kicker is can I have a template with IIS installed, SQL Server 2005 installed and SCCM 2007 installed and configured and clone/deploy that multiple times which would allow me to make minor post installation changes? Or, as I suspect, do all of this software need to be installed once my template has been deployed and joined to the domain? Or can I have a template with IIS and SQL 2005 installed but have to wait until it's in production before installing SCCM or any possible combo that will save time? We have a fully virtualised environment, running on ESX 3.5 Update 4 or ESXi 4 mostly. VMs are all Windows Server 2003 SP2. SQL would be SQL Server 2005 SP3. Thanks in advance. Mick
