Software Depolyment Not Working

Question

We have just recently installed SCCM 2007 SP2 and following this guide configured it up to the point of Software Distribution. Have created a package as per the guide. It shows up under the collection but when i go to the XP client its not showing up there as available. I have checked the cache folder and it doesnt show up there either. Anything else i can look for? The only major difference i have noticed with our install and the guide is on the client under actions it only shows 2 items instead of the list that it shows in the guide. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes the boundaries have been configured. The firewall is turned off on all machines in the test that we have created.

Check the client is Healty or if it has any WMI Issues ? Check the logs if it contact Management point or not ?

Where do i check this at? Thanks

look at the location services.log and ccmexec.log which is present in c:\windows\system32\ccm\logs to find whats happening in the client side.

For more information about SCCM client log files check out this link here

and it just repeats. I just checked again and one of the packages that we created was installed. But the other one that was setup the same way was not installed.

Did you enabled SHVP role (works with NAP For more info look at here ) ? Please check on the SCCM client Log file to see if the client is contacting or not also check ccmexec.log ? have you verified these to see if it has any issues ?

So with no changes made it is now installing advertisements. However they are not showing up in the advertised programs list on the client. And now the only component that is critical is the health validator. Everything else is showing green.

If you make the advertisement as optional ,then you can see the advertisement in RAP(run advertisement program) Icon ,if it is mandoatory or Recuring schedule, you wont see it.
