SUP, Servers and manual install

I currently use WSUS to manage Windows Updates. The have my client computers install the updates automatically but I have my servers set to download and notify only. Is there a way to do the same thing with SUP in SCCM (2012)?

Hi,

Yes there is, simply don't set a deadline on the deployment, then the logged in user can choose which updates to install from a list simliar to the WSUS appearence.

Do I need to have WSUS and SUP installed at each location or does it all get controled/deployed from my primary site?

Hi,

It depends on the size of the locations but generally I would say no, WSUS/Sup is only used when scanning for software updates, when you deploy them the process utilizes the normal DP's and MP policy traffic.
