Issue Deploying Windows 7 Using SCCM 2007 SP2

Question

Hi,

I am currently in the process of deploying Windows 7 on of the Test Laptop. i Have created the .WIM Image and Advertised the PXE. When i network boot my Test laptop i am able to see Test laptop contacting my SCCM server and the next message says windows is loading files and shows my .wim file is getting loaded from my sccm server.

I get the win PE screen and i can see System Center Configuration Manager Screen and after sometime the system restarts. i can't seem to understanding where i have missed out and what should i do to fix this issue and install Windows7 on my test laptop.

Following is the SMSts.log

agreed, enable f8 support and do ipconfig while in win pe, do you see an ip address ? if not add nic drivers to boot wim, for sccm 2007 sp2 they should be windows 7 network drivers

Sounds like a driver issue. Have you injected the needed NIC and/or SATA drivers into the SCCM environment for that particular laptop?

Hi Lucid,

I have injected the NIC Drivers to WINPE and updated the distribution points but still running out of luck. I tried drivers which was in the System Dump and it didn't work. I downloaded the Drivers and then injected the drivers, but still running out of luck

do you get an ip in WinPE ? post your smsts.log file here pls

Hi,

After a lot of effort i was able to boot with winpe and my hard disk got formated the way i specified it but i'm getting a error while Applying the Operating System task Sequence. After a lot of reading in blogs i understand that my advertisement is running with the data image. I had to capture the image on the local drive. So i guess the data image also got created.

Now i'm not sure which image to select. I have 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 to choose from. But not sure which is the correct wim.

i'm attaching the smsts.log i happened to see through it and i am suspecting that it might be a issue with my OS image selection. It looks like there is a Data image also in my .wim file. I'm unable to differentiate and select the appropriate image.
