  1. I could not use the above method and I needed to use "Compliance Settings" to create a WQL query and pull that information manually. It was nice to learn how to do this but it seemed a bit overly complicated to do something kinda simple. Assets and compliance -> Compliance Settings -> configuration items -> Create Setup the name and categories -> OS -> new -> Settings types set to WQL query Name = “KB~~~” Namespace = “root\cimv2″ Class = “Win32_QuickFixEngineering” Property = “HotFixID” WQL query Where clause = "HotFixID = 'KB#######'" just to confirm above in case you are just copying its double quotes around the whole hotfix = kb### and single quotes around kb### Afterwards create a baseline -> add -> configuration items -> add the one you just created and deploy it to a collection. You would need to run Machine Policy Retrieval & evaluation cycle to push out the baseline and after it syncs you can see the results in monitoring -> deployments -> baseline's name Yeahhh....overly complicated References: http://t3chn1ck.wordpress.com/2010/10/20/sccm-dcm-inventory-for-installed-windows-hotfixes/ http://blogs.msdn.com/b/scom_2012_upgrade_process__lessons_learned_during_my_upgrade_process/archive/2012/09/21/compliance-settings-sccm-2012.aspx
  2. I would like to make a report/query of an installed hotfix with a certain name "KB#######" Could anyone point me in the right direction, thanks.
  3. I use right click tools, adds a lot of functions that SCCM should have. Been using it since sccm 2007 Explain of utility: http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2012/05/07/config-manager-2012-right-click-tools/ Download: http://psrightclicktools.codeplex.com/
  4. I really like a lot of the new feature of SCCM 2012 but the one thing that baffles me is that there is no contextual buttons for the statistics on the bottom right when you see how compliant the software updates are. Dose anyone know of a way / plugin or anything I can use to make it so when I click on something like "Required" it just shows me who requires that update? It is so odd they are missing something that simple and easy.
  5. Just to follow up with this, it took me a while to figure out which CU2 because there is one for SCCM 2012 and another for SCCM 2012 SP1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2854009 They like to try to confuse us.
  6. Found the fix, the problem was that the collection would not update on time and after I went properties -> membership rules and checked "Use incremental update for this collection" it fixed the problem.
  7. I just pushed a client to a device and it installed fine and then approved the client (which we do manually) then I went to add it to an existing collection and...nothing. I tried it again and it won't show up in the collection. I have zero idea why it is not doing it or where to look to fix it, any help is greatly appreciated. Updates: -A reboot on the server did not fix the issue. -When I try to "add selected items -> add to new device collection" it create the collection but then the collection is empty.
  8. wow good catch, been wondering about this for a while.
  9. In my work we have a few remote users who use remote desktop with a laptop to connect to a hyper-v computer. I find that when they are not in the office they cannot get updates and SCCM freaks out that their information is not updated. Is there a way other than using a VPN to manage remote SCCM computers?
  10. I did not think it would of been an issue While looking though some of the logs I suspect that it is an WMI issue but I am unsure.
  11. I am having a issue and I am not sure where it lays. I had a SCCM server setup already and it had a hardware crash badly that made me have to recreate a new SCCM server, changed the name of the server but left the site code the same. 1 SCCM 2007 R3, SQL 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2 I had only a minor issues getting some of the old clients to work but I added a new computer and its reports only show FEP updates http://i.imgur.com/PAwIv.png Inventoryagent.log http://i.imgur.com/Jr70C.jpg http://pastebin.com/zLy5TD9B Package deployment still works, Not sure what else to post but I can upload anything you might need. -update- The other computers are working, just this new one is not reporting.
  12. I had my SCCM server setup and it was able to download updates and install them. I noticed a little while ago that updates were not being downloaded in the repository anymore so I removed the software update point, replaced and synced the database and it started to download all the updates again. It is able to deploy FEP updates fine but it refuses to install on machines any windows updates now. Any suggestions on what I should look at?

    How to supress reboot

Small update: One of the computers attempted to do a reboot and it looked like when you goto "shutdown" and it prompts users to close open files. anyone have any suggestions?
  14. I am starting to deploy my SCCM 2007 to a group of users to see if it is ready to be use as our main update server. Last night SCCM rebooted a large number of my test machines and I am unsure why it is. In my current enviroment we want SCCM to -NEVER- reboot the computers and install all updates behind the scene without prompting. I don't mind having nagging screens asking for user to reboot I just never want to allow it to do so on its own. Is there anything I might be missing or any GPO settings I could setup to ensure this. The settings I currently have are... Deployment Template: Under Restart Settings A system restart may be initiated when.... Checked: Servers Checked: Workstation Unchecked: Allow system restart outside of maintenance windows (same as above for deployed lists) Deployment Management : Under Schedule Updates are made available : As soon as possible Set a deadline Checked: Ignore maintenance windows
