  1. I had something very similar happen to me on SCCM 2012 SP1 + MDT 2012 U1. Sometimes when I entered a Static IP address, I would get an error saying "Enter a DNS server address", even though I DID enter a DNS server address. Here is my post about it: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8df4b017-6142-449d-ab97-c1b9fcfe6e1a/network-configuration-window-in-winpe-says-enter-the-dns-server-ip-address-even-if-there-is-a-dns?forum=configmanagerosd
  2. Thanks for this! I was going crazy trying to figure that out...
  3. Thanks for putting out such great content, as always. You make our jobs easier!
  4. Hello, I have a question about including the configmanager client in my build and capture task sequence. Right now, I have an SCCM 2012 Sp1/MDT 2012 Update 1 UDI deployment task sequence. When I use that task sequence to deploy the install.wim from the Windows 7 DVD, it works great. When I use that task sequence to deploy the .WIM that I created using this guide, the deployment fails at installing the configmanager client. During my build and capture, I am installing the "Microsoft Configuration Manager Client Upgrade 5.0 ALL" package that I created following these instructions. I am also installing this same package during my deployments. Is that right? It seems like I should either drop the client from either the Build and Capture or the deployment task sequence.
  5. Hello, We have a very decentralized environment, and the UDI Wizard's OU selection page just isn't good enough to fit our needs, since I have to manually input every OU that a technician could choose when they build a machine. I have developed a .NET app that will query Active Directory and inject the proper XML to populate that drop down box with every OU in our forest, but the width of the dropdown box is too small, and our long AD paths won't fit. So, I have written my own OU tree chooser, and I would like that to run before the UDI wizard pops up. This OU tree app allows a technician to select an OU to build the machine in, and then injects that OU into the UDI_Wizard_Config.xml file, so that the UDI wizard and the task sequence knows to put the machine in the chosen OU. My questions are: What is the best way to run this app? As a package? As a command line from a share? How can I modify files in the MDT Toolkit during a TS?
  6. Have you looked at the UDI Wizard designer and tried to add a 'Build your own page' page to a StageGroup? What exactly do you need help with?
  7. Sorry it took so long to reply, but I wanted to follow up on this. It was indeed a missing storage driver on my boot media. Thanks.
  8. Hi there, I'm having similiar issues, but I can't find an AppEnforce.log on my client. Where should that log be?
  9. I am currently trying out this plug-in in a Windows Server 2012/SCCM2012 SP1 Beta/SQL 2012 test environment. I've had challenges so far, but I don't think it is due to their product, and their support team has been great. I really hope it works out, as I would love to take driver management out of the equation.
  10. Hello, I am using SCCM 2012 SP1 Beta, with MDT 2012 Update 1. I have an MDT task sequence to deploy our reference image. This TS works on my VM, and works on a laptop when booted from a CD. When I boot the same media from USB (on a new Ultrabook that doesn't have an optical drive), the TS fails very early, when partitioning the disk (before the UDI Wizard comes up), and then my USB stick needs to be re-formatted, and I need to copy the boot media files onto it again. I have done this three times now, and I am thinking that my TS is seeing my USB drive as disk 0 and formatting it? EDIT: After booting up from the USB drive I ran DISKPART, and diskpart does not see any fixed disks. That could be my problem. Any ideas as to why that could be? Storage drivers on my boot image? This Ultrabook does have an SSD. Wonder if that matters?
  11. Hello, I am trying to create a custom page for my UDI wizard, and I need to prepopulate some of the controls with information about the machine (MAC address, for example). I am very new to this, so how do I go about it? Do I need to specify the task variable in the customsettings.ini? Thanks!
  12. I am trying to get Office 2010 to install using a UDI task sequence, and it IS installing, but it has a yellow exclamation point next to it at the summary screen after the task sequence completes, as does another app I am trying to install. The apps that use an .MSI are fine, and get the green check, but the two apps that use .exe for their installers get the yellow warning sign. I assume this has to do with exit codes or detection rules, but I am very new to SCCM (using 2012 and MDT 2012 Update 1), so I need some help. Thank you!
