  1. Hi, Thank you for the reply. I completed so far the steps as stated in my previous reply, I mean the step before the control panel screen. I don't have clients in my network. I will install couple of clients like Windows Vista, WindowsXP and try the Firefox Package install example. I think that should tell me or test my SCCM configuration right ? Thanks again
  2. Hi, At the end of this guide, step to verify the icons in Control Panel. I did not see any of the new icons that you pointed. I rebooted the server as well, but no change. I hope I did everything correctly and I did not see any errors so far expect the one above and they were installed later during "Distribution Point (DP) and the Management Point (MP)." steps. Could you let me know what would be the issue. http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=491 Thanks
  3. Hi Anyweb, Thanks. I moved to next guide and currently doing this step. http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=491 Step 3. Configure Discovery methods I tried to select this check box , but when I clicked on OK or APPLY , the check is gone. "you should also check the Run discovery as soon as possible is ticked for all of the above". I don't know how to correct this. Please let me know if this is an important to correct it right now. Thanks
  4. Hi, I ran Configuration Guide 1 for SCCM anyway and the moved to Guide 2. And I am stopped at this point. Basically I did not understand what needs to be done after this line. "A quick look back in System Status for our Management Point, now we can see that it has installed and started properly" on the page: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=490. Please let me know what needs to be run after that line. Please note that Component Status is currently showing green for all the components. Thanks
  5. Thank you very much. I will move to next step. And the next step is as follow and I would like to know my env. is required to run step 1 and step 2 from this page ? because I have installed every thing on one machine. --------------------- Step 1. Add SCCM server computer account to SMS groups Please read the note below and consider if you should skip to Step 2. Note: SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_sitecode and SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_sitecode are local groups created on the site server. If you are deploying a simple setting with all roles on the same server these two groups will be empty and adding the "local" computer account means nothing. --------------------- http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=489 Thanks

  7. Hi, I can see System Status in Configuration Manager Console. But right click on it did not show me log file or menu. Am I at right place ? Thanks
  8. Hi, I just reached installing SCCM 2007 SP1 on my env. So far the installation is completed. But I scrolled it down to see every item installation status and I see two of the items as UNKNOWN. And those items are: 1. Install MP Control Manager 2. Install Management Point I clicked Next and I did not see any error on final completion step. I could able to launch Configuration Manager Console successfully. I am not sure whether it will be an issue for next steps of SCCM configuration. I don't know where to find the logs. Could some one confirm whether it will be an issue. Should I proceed to the next step. My Env: Testing Windows 2008 SP2, AD, DHCP, IIS SQL Server 2008 SCCM 2007 SP1 Thanks
  9. Yes, I am setting up lab env. only. Ok. Thank you for the information.
  10. Sorry I did see the "SQL Server Configuration Manager". It is just mixed with other folders and I did not notice it before. Thanks
  11. Hi, Could you let me know how to bring up "SQL Server Configuration Manager". I could not find it in All programs menu. SQL Server 2008 was successfully installed on my Windows 2008 Server SP2. Thanks
  12. Hi Anyweb, Good news. I just rebooted one more time and found the command worked fine. This is the result. Drive Z: now connected to http://127.0.0.1/. The command completed successfully. Thanks
  13. Hi, I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 on a Windows 2008 SP2 Server with AD, DHCP and IIS configured. When I run System Configuration Checker from SQL server 2008 setup program, I am seeing a warning on "Computer Domain Controller". And that warning says " Rule "Computer domain controller" generated a warning. Installing SQL Server 2008 on a domain controller is not recommended. Could someone let me know whether this will cause any issues. I could not find any clue for fixing this. Please let me know if there is any fix for this? Thanks
  14. As you mentioned in your steps, I did only enable Windows Authentication but not Basic Authentication. I believe it is ok for my setup. Thanks
  15. Ok. Thanks. Yes. I need to finish this as soon as possible. I will continue the remaining steps.
  16. Yes. I did apply all of the WenDAV settings by following the screenshots in this thread. I may need to point you my ip settings so that you may understand what would be the issue. I am basically stopped here because "net use" command is not working for me. Could you let me know what would the issue. Do you think I can continue with the remaining steps and then modify any setting to make "net use" command working. Thanks
  17. Could you let me know how to run "old fashioned reboot". Is it from DOS prompt? Thanks
  18. I think once Destop Experience Feature is installed, it prompted me reboot. Hence I ran the reboot. And I am trying net use command after reboot. I'm going to reboot again and see if it helps. Thanks
  19. Hi, administrator is the user. And I am installing everything as administrator. Thanks,
  20. Hi, First off all the steps posted in this thread for configuring pre-requisite of SCCM is simply very nice presentation. I really appreciate the Author. I am setting everything (AD, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server 2008 and SCCM 2007 SP1) on "ONE" Test Server and so far I completed the following: - Windows 2008 Server SP2 - Configuring Active Directory Domain Service - Adding DHCP Role - Adding IIS Webserver Role - Download and installing WebDAV for IIS 7 - Enabling WebDAV Publishing using the IIS Manager - Verify that you have Authorization and Authentication Configured - Tested with net use *http://localhost// or 127.0.0.1, but getting the same "System error 67 has occured. The network name cannot be found." - Then applied the above suggestion "Installing Desktop Experience Feature using Server Manager". But I am getting the same result for "net use" command and stopped here. Could someone help me to resolve this. Thanks, Torpedo
