  1. <01-13-2010 11:44:05> Failed to update the default boot image: \\SERVER\root\sms\site_CEN:SMS_BootImagePackage.PackageID="CEN000CB". Error code 0x80041001 Is what was in the log.
  2. It's just Microsoft's standard x86 boot image, version 6.0.6000.16386 (the x64 image was updated to 6.1.7600.16385). I had added drivers to it so I think that's why it failed. I have since removed them but can't get it to update... Sorry for the delayed reply, but it looks like my email notifications are getting bounced somewhere.
  3. Hi guys, I just finished upgrading my central site to SP2 and it failed to update one of the boot images. I removed all the drivers, made the simple change of adding cmd line support and the changes appear to have gone through ok. The version number hasn't changed though - this looks like an editable field so will it change on a successful update or do I now assume that because the image has been updated successfully, that I can just change the version number manually to reflect the recent change? Cheers, MRaybone.
  4. Fixed this by restarting all SMS and SQL services.
  5. Ok thanks, although if that's the case I can do what I said to add them to a Package, then just remove and re-create the Deployment using the newly updated Package right?
  6. Hi all, I've got updates working through an SUP and have successfully excuted several test deployments. However upon attempting to create another update list today, the following error occurred: Error: Failed to create the new update list: Name=Windows 2000 All Critical Patches ConfigMgr Error Object: instance of SMS_ExtendedStatus { Description = "The digest is not valid"; ErrorCode = 1078462235; File = "e:\\nts_sms_fre\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspconfigurationitem.cpp"; Line = 1928; Operation = "PutInstance"; ParameterInfo = ""; ProviderName = "ExtnProv"; StatusCode = 2147749889; }; Errors The ConfigMgr Provider reported an error. I have no idea what's going on here - this was working fine a few days ago. Many thanks, MRaybone.
  7. Hello again! Configuring Software Updates is going nicely, hopefully I'll be able to go live with it this month. One quick question though: Am I right in thinking that by right clicking on a selection of updates listed in a Search Folder, choosing Download Updates and then selecting a pre-existing Deployment Package which is currently 'live' so to speak, that these new updates will be added and distributed to targeted machines right away, along with the existing updates within the chosen Deployment Package? Cheers! Mark.
  8. Or you could go into the Reporting node and run the 'Software 01A - Summary of installed software in a specific collection' report. For 'Collection' just click the Values button and select the desired collection, change 'Specify the number of rows to return' to something like 1500 and hit Display. If you get no results then right click the Asset Intelligence node, click 'Edit Asset Intelligence Reporting Classes' and tick at least SMS_InstalledSoftware and SMS_InstalledSoftwareMS. After your clients have run an inventory you should get some results. MRaybone.
  9. Looking at it some more, I think peopleu usually initially want to categorize everything on a month by month basis. Possible for any updates with MS0X bulletin IDs because you can specify "MS09" and "Date Released within 1 month", for example, but not possible for updates without Bulletin IDs. However I guess what you should just do is look at a larger collection of updates in a search folder, just arrange by Date Released and create Update Lists based on your results. Those screenshots intrigue me though - what do you have under the Hotfixes and Applications subfolders...? Cheers, Mark.
  10. Yes I have a similar issue. How do you include updates which don't have an "MS0X" Bulletin ID in a month based set of search folders? I can see the names of some of your search folders listed and I can't think how to achieve them. I'm trying to devise a nice system for covering monthly bulletins and also everything else that MS release each month and am having trouble coming up with a decent structure.
