  1. So I'm checking the network usage during the build, the big spike happens during when the client is installed, then the network seems to drop off, it makes me think the client isn't installing correctly and therefore cannot download the packages to continue with the TS, however the same TS works fine and the client installs correctly on our dell fleet. The step in the TS never actually completes successfully, it just skips it after awhile and continues to skip the remaining steps then finishes the TS.
  2. Excellent news for you, however i already had that hotfix installed on my Windows 2008 R2 Server, i can import the driver fine into SCCM. I tried adding the install properties you have into my TS step for "Setup Windows and ConfigMgr" however after it reboots it just sits in the "getting ready" windows 8.1 display image, almost as if its trying to inject/install the driver and fails so it finally roles back to a Microsoft driver then boots back into the TS, where according to the TS it doesn't have a network (however if i hit f8 and ping google or the SCCM server, it works fine, also i get a normal IP) it's a very very odd issue. i noticed the digital signature on some of the drivers i've tried has expired about a month ago.. not sure if this could be the cause of the issue?
  3. Thanks, This is driving me mad, I've tried so many different driver versions for the Intel 1218(3)-LM driver, however after it installs the driver package in the TS and reboots, it spends a long time at at "starting windows" after it finally goes back in the TS it attempts to install the client then applications (while this is occuring i can ping the sccm server from the machine) - however it seems that the SCCM TS believes there is no network at this point as it doesn't join the domain or install any apps. the TS itself works fine on dell models... it's just something odd with this Intel driver where it seems to almost half be installed... Bump, anyone else had this?
  4. Hi All, I've been having issues with lenovo drivers for a few days, I can PXE boot the machines, Select the TS i want to apply (Windows 7 or Windows 8.1) and it starts to run the TS, however it fails to join the domain or install any applications, ( I am however able to ping other things on the network the entire build process including when it is attempting to install applications) Once the TS has finally "finished" i'm able to login as a local account and the network appears to be working the NIC displays as a "Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM" i notice the driver in the driver packs for these models is "Intel Ethernet Connection I217-LM" with I218-LM being a supported Model. Models X250 T550 P500 Note: These TS's work with all our current Dell models fine. SCCM Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 with kb2837108 applied SCCM: 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 ADK: 8.1 Boot Image: x64 Version:6.3.9600.16384 TS OS: Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 Imported WinPE NIC from: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds102312into Boot image. Drivers: downloaded from here https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/sccm-indexfor the below models, different driver package for Win7 and Win8 for each Model, drivers are distrubuted to the DP, and within the TS are applied as "Apply driver package" with WMI query looking up the Model number. Has anyone else had this issue? or any idea how to resolve this?
  5. Has anyone found a solution to this, I'm trying to use powershell within winpe using a boot image with version 10.0.10240.16384 (win 10 ADK) however it just doesn't work I upgraded ADK to 8.1 prior to installing SCCM 2012 R2 SP1, then upgraded to SP1, i've now upgraded my ADK to 10, (the reason i upgraded the ADK was because i noticed i was unable to modify the optional components for my current boot images) - as i'm missing these tabs. - i can see the tabs on the win10 boot images but not the 8.1 images (6.3.9600.16384) Does anyone have any advice on how to either, get these tabs back for my 8.1 boot images so i can modify the additional tabs, or how to get powershell to work for the win10 boot images?
  6. This is driving me mad. I've tried everything i can think of. - Recreated the TS - Removed Network Access Account and Re added in software Distribution - Changed Deployment type of the TS to Access Content Directly - Changed Deployment type of the TS to download content - Disabled SHA-256 Tested Deployments on 2 Hyper-V vm's in the same collection with the same TS advertised. The first one managed to load the TS information and run the TS, however failed with error 080090005 trying to install drivers, restarted and installed client, seemed to be ok. (see attached smsts_SEMIFAILED.log) The second one was not able to load the TS information and failed straight after entering the PXE password for the TS welcome screen (see attached smsts_failed.log) Both of these were run at roughly the same time, both Hyper-V vm's are located in the same subnet as the Secondary Server. I believe the permissions should be fine considering it is able to successfully load the TS and start installing 50% of the time. It's almost as if its not able to download the policy information from the Management Point, however i've checked in AD, System>System Management Container and there is an entry for the Management Poitn for the secondary server in there. Looking at my Site Status logs for the Management point for the Secondary Site looks ok, however i notice in the size column there is 0 Bytes, however there is plenty of free space on the server. anyone have any ideas? smsts_Failed.log smsts_SEMIFAILED.log
  7. no, however i'm trying to deploy the TS to computers which i've imported and inserted the MAC address into a collection. Does Unknown Computer support need to be enabled as well?
  8. no luck I've recreated the TS again, checked all packages are distributed however the same issue still occurs, also tripe checked the network access account for software distribution. Any other ideas?
  9. Hey AnyWeb, Are you able to help out with this issue, it seems to be related.. The Issue i have, is the TS will fail on just after the "Welcome to the TS Wizard" Screen, as i enter the password, it'll fail and throw the generic error 0x80004005. However then if i try it again mins later i'll be able to select the TS and actually install Windows, - However looking at the deployments monitoring in the SCCM Console it just sits in "In Progress" and then goes to "Failed" - However Windows has been installed. SCCM 2012 Environment. (mixed mode) 1 Primary Server 4 Secondary Server All packages/software have been distributed to all locations. Boundary Point has been setup for 1 of the secondary servers and attached to a Boundary Group. (that site is being used for content location) Network Account has been setup and i've confirmed it's the right password (however after i close and open it again and verify a second time it detects as incorrect password, i believe this is because it encrypts the password after i close it the first time? I'm using Hyper V clients to test the TS on, the TS is basically just the Standard TS you make. (Windows only, with Serial inserted into the serial field) I've already changed their disks to fixed size and increased the ram on them and checked the BIOS time is correct. - However this has had no affect. I've attached the SMSTS Log... please help SMSTS.txt
  10. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm having the same issue, trying to OSD deploy to a Hyper V Client. It's quite random, some times it'll install the OS fine, however it never reports "successful". (basic TS with only windows image) other times it'll fail at getting the policy information for the TS other times it'll fail at getting all the reference information. I've checked. all packages are distributed to all distributions points. i don't have any overlapping boundary's. - they are configured as AD sites. Network access account is a local admin on all SCCM servers. No Certs are blocked PXE boot seems to work fine. looking at the smsts log when a TS fails shows no obvious errors of any kind. I've increased the amount of RAM on my VM to see if that has any affect. I"m not sure what else to check...
  11. I'm having issues with OSD deployment in SCCM 2012, I've just Migrated Clients in a Secondary Site from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012. 1. I've Tested Application Deployment which seems to work fine, however under the Deployment Monitoring it just says "Still in Progress" even though the application has been deployed. 2. I'm able to Successfully PXE Boot Clients, however when i attempt to Load a TS, it fails to get policy and throws a generic error of "0x80004005" At first i thought this was related to some of my packages not being distubuted to the distrubution points, however i've checked this and they are all distrubuted fine, i've even removed everything from my TS other then the basic setup. I.E, (Format, Install Windows, Join Domain). I've been having mixed results with this, some times the TS will load and deploy, however other times i'll recieve a generic error of "0x80004005" and other times it'll fail half way through the TS - I've been tested on VM's in Hyper V. I'm currently still running our SCCM 2007 Enivorment, however. I've created the primary site and secondary site for SCCM 2012 under new Site codes, and i've removed the boundary points from this secondary site in SCCM 2007 and shut down that server. I've applied the AD Site to a new boundary point in SCCM 2012 and attached that to a boundary group which is assigned to the secondary site computer, for content and site assignment. Note: in the attached Site Status Picture you'll notice that SMS_SITE_Componet_Manager is displaying as "Component Not Installed by Site Compoment Manager" - i've attached the log files for this. Also, in the Site Status Monitoring Window, some of my Management Points display as 0 Bytes in Size, however looking at the log files it seems fine, so i'm not sure if this is normal? Please Help
  12. Update: Running: "SELECT name, protocol_desc, port, state_desc FROM sys.tcp_endpoints WHERE type_desc = 'SERVICE_BROKER'" on both the primary server database and the secondary server database confirms that SSB is running on 4022 for both of these servers. Running: "select * from RCM_ReplicationLinkStatus" from the primary server database Retuns the below result PER BNE PER 21 3 2012-10-04 00:32:12.610 2 Active 2012-10-04 00:29:01.630 1 2012-10-04 08:23:30.560 NULL PER BNE PER 22 3 2012-10-04 00:32:12.620 2 Active 2012-10-04 00:31:59.763 1 2012-10-04 08:25:58.400 NULL PER PER BNE 21 3 2012-10-04 00:32:12.613 2 Active 2012-10-04 00:29:50.010 NULL NULL NULL PER PER BNE 22 3 2012-10-04 00:32:12.623 2 Active 2012-10-04 00:33:53.413 NULL NULL NULL
  13. I've been having some strange issues with getting Secondary Sites to work. Link is being configured ("Initializing data between parent site and child site") Setup. Primary Site Fresh Install Linked to Remote SQL server WIndows Firewall disabled (and ports 1433 and 4022 allowed) Database Server SQL Server 2008 R2 CU4 Firewall Disabled (and ports 1433 and 4022 allowed) Database running on port 1433 Secondary Site Firewall disabled (and ports 1433 and 4022 allowed) Installed Secondary Site via Primary Site Console (appears to have been successful) database running/listening on port 1433 The issue i'm having is with the database replication between the Primary Site and the Secondary Site. Link is being configured ("Initializing data between parent site and child site") However: the "Child site to Parent Site Global State: is set to "Link Active" It's just the Parent site to Child Site Global State: that is set as "Link is being configured" The primary site computer account is a local admin on all 3 machines The secondary site computer account is a local admin on all 3 machines When i run the Replication Link Analyzer it suggests i reset the queued messages, however this has no effect nor does it's next step of reinitialize replication groups on site "XYZ" Looking at the log file it creates the only thing i see that could be related is this message "Publisher BNE does not have record or record is aborted for replication group Secondary_Site_Replication_Configuration. Re-initialize the group. " Any ideas would be welcome
