Kevin79 Posted January 5, 2016 Report post Posted January 5, 2016 I want to upgrade to the new SCCM version but have some XP clients still that get SCEP updates from SCCM. The XP clients don't have internet access so I can't have them go directly to the internet. What is the best way to manage SCEP updates on those clients since the new version of SCCM doesn't support XP.
anyweb Posted January 5, 2016 Report post Posted January 5, 2016 get off XP which itself is unsupported or use another brand of Antivirus software like Symantec SEP until you can,
Kevin79 Posted January 5, 2016 Report post Posted January 5, 2016 I wish we could get off of XP. Unfortunately there are programs that are old that don't work with Windows 7 and management is too cheap to pay for upgrading them. Peter van der Woude Posted January 5, 2016 Report post Posted January 5, 2016 Small note, not supported doesn't mean that it doesn't work.
Kevin79 Posted January 5, 2016 Report post Posted January 5, 2016 Peter, did you install the clients on XP? Is there somewhere to get the client from so I can see if it installs?
Peter van der Woude Posted January 6, 2016 Report post Posted January 6, 2016 Haven't tested it. I would simply test it in a lab environment and try XP with an old client and XP with a new client.
