  1. If a have a bare metal client, and I want to deploy an OS on it do I have to do these steps WITH a sysprep package?
  2. I have been looking for a solution to generate computernames like this, companypc001, companypc002, companypc003 how can you do this? Or even to give the computername to enter the computername in an unattend.xml before the deployment would be fine, but how do you add this unattend then to your task sequence? I know about adding an unattend for changing keyboard settings has to be added to apply operating system image. There must be a simple way to do this not? I cant image that companies with 1500 pc's are going to every pc and manually enter the computername... :/ This is my first time using SCCM, sorry if my questions are too simple... edit.: Is this the final guide? No ZTI guide? Or is that one coming in a different subforum on this site? sccm2012, MDT2012, W7, ZTI?
  3. Where do you change the keyboard settings? I live in Belgium so for me the language is nl-BE and the keyboard is Belgian Period, (azerty). Also is there a guide for ZTI (zero touch install) for SCCM 2012 and MDT? edit: I think I found it by browsing the web and this site. So I created an unattend.xml where I set the keyboard settings to nl-BE. Than I edited the MDT task sequence, in the Install folder there is Apply Operating System Image here is you can select Use an unattended or sysprep answer file for a custom installation, the package you select is Microsoft MDT settings or how you called it. Than I edited the unattended.xml file by browsing to it via windows explorer, and changed the input settings from en-US to nl-BE. I tested it the keyboard was nl-BE after the install. Now I am looking for a way to set a default pcname for a new install, but I think I saw this somewhere in this tutorial so I am gonna check that again. Also the Format and Partition Disk 6.1,6.0,5.x. have me a little puzzled, am I correct to think they are hidden partitions for the endprotection files for the clients?
  4. Please tell me that SCCM 2012 can install .exe silently, I thought SCCM would have a "snapshot"/"record" function so that you could capture the install of a program and its settings, save this and deploy the software with these settings included... Like setting Firefox default browser and setting a default homepage in firefox. Like is possible with this tool: http://www.remotepctools.com/pc_network_deploy/features.html
  5. If I followed this part like you do it here, and now I want to PXE boot an empty client will it just install? Let's say this client is already in the devices group but not in the deploy windows 7 group, am I thinking correctly that I first have to add the PC to the deploy windows 7 group? Also if I boot the empty client can I choose between "capture reference machine windows 7 x64" and "deploy windows 7 x64"? This is because the client is also part of the capture ref. machine group.
