  1. I am just being picky I think. I was so used to the SCCM 2007 reporting interface that this is a big change. I've been browsing to your blog a lot, and I just put 2+2 together yesterday that you were one-in-the-same person lol
  2. (It's not that bad, I just want to make it look better) I'm just going to http://servername/Reports And I just cloned the report by reading an old post you commented on. Thanks!
  3. 1. Is there a better web interface (SCCM 2007, I thought had a much better web interface) Or a frontend? 2. I thought so, but figured I would ask. One last question about this report - I've figured out that if I search using "Adobe Flash Player" it doesn't work, but if I search using the wildcard "Adobe Flash Player%" It works fine and returns the result. This is not a huge deal, but is there a way to modify the report that it either doesn't require (and I think it may be called boolean searching?) or is there an easy way to modify the report to always append a % sign to the end of whats typed in the search field?
  4. Garth, If you are referring to these reports Most show up like this one, where I either can click "Values" and nothing shows up Or I can't click on the Values field at all One report did work (Thank you) and it is giving me an overall view which will work for now. But, if you have any suggestions on how to fix the issue I am encountering, that would be awesome. I thought about removing the reporting services role, and adding again but I am thinking there has to be an easier way? Thanks Jesse
  5. Hello, How can I modify the report Software 06A to return the ACTUAL version? Basically, I want to get an overall view of how many computers have (Flash in this case) version 25.0.0.148 installed or 25.0.0.171 (for example). Can someone help me with this? Or Is there another existing report that will do this for me?
  6. I find myself setting up a lot of applications, but I have a lot of packages as well that call other programs. So I just created an additional program under the package, and then reference the program. Example: Ibm spectrum protect package Main installer program Sub program - VCredistrib_x86_x64 Sub program runs with name install Tivoli And has "install another program first" --- this way I have one item in software center. If I use applications, I'd have to deploy the application(I think) - which I don't want people to be able to install the VCredistrib_x86_x64 software If the same type of scenario can be done without junking up my software center with a bunch of dependency applications that would be awesome to know.
  7. I am experiencing a weird issue. I did a USMT capture of two different machines. Both are in-place (upgrading W7 to W10). One of the systems I was able to do a restore user state, but the other is giving me the following error Error: 0x4005(16389) I've attached the smsts.log Any help would be great
  8. I know this is an old topic, but what if I want to do the following Capture the User State from Computer X Install Windows 10 Restore the User State from Computer X Basically, I want to capture and restore the user state to the same computer so that I can do a clean image and restore the user state. Can I just add those steps into my Task Sequence? Or is it necessary to create a TS - Capture User State and a TS - Restore User State And run the Capture TS before. Then run my Imaging. and then Restore User state? Thanks!!
  9. Niall, If I am using CopyProfile will it cause issues with this working? The reason I ask is it does not apply my layout to Win 10 Enterprise x64 LTSB 1607. Thanks
  10. Awesome! I knew I had to be overlooking something. I'll try it out. Thanks!
  11. OK, so I've figured out how to do this using a package instead of an application. I've also figured I can utilize my collections to determine which architecture gets what software - but I was wondering is it possible, without a script, to use a program from a package to determine that?
  12. I am trying to create a SINGLE software package using the native MSI installers that will install based upon architecture, 32bit/64bit. Is this possible? Or do I need to have a separate application/package for each version? I am trying to avoid the use of a script to handle this.
  13. Two questions The 7zip and Firefox are applications, which I can easily add/change an icon. Is there a similar process or method to make the "programs" from Packages have icons? 2nd question - Some of my applications don't show icons in Add/Remove Programs, While this doesn't really cause any issues other than it is less aesthetically pleasing, I am curious has anyone else come across this, and if so, is there a fix?
  14. I have a wim with two windows images, one x86 and x64. i have apply operating system step set to use image index 2, and a set task sequence variable of OSDImageIndex equals 2. I have a condition that the task won't run unless the variable is 2. Yet, apply operating system fails with an error of 0x080070002. Any suggestions?
  15. Good Evening Niall, Do you know of any issues of running SCCM 1702, with SQL Server 2012 (11.1.3000.0) or should I be looking to upgrade it? Thanks
  16. My prerequisite check fails with not enough space error message. How can I clean up the previous updates?
  17. Thanks, It looks like I didn't have the ports opened. Now the client is installed, however I am still seeing the following two errors: ---> Unable to connect to WMI (root\ccm) on remote machine "COMPUTERNAME.DOMAIN.EDU", error = 0x8004100e. SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER 5/5/2017 12:55:51 PM 3776 (0x0EC0) and ---> Execute query exec [sp_CP_SetLastErrorCode] 2097152268, 0 SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER 5/5/2017 12:56:13 PM 3776 (0x0EC0) Any thoughts?
  18. So interesting enough, disabling the Firewall worked. I read here about Firewall ports, and went ahead and created a GPO to test if its the right ports, can you confirm (or anyone).
  19. I don't get any error. I can manually browse just fine to the Admin share, I can access remote registry with the network account.
  20. Where I work, we currently re-image about 6 computers monthly, as the majority of the time they sit on a shelf. The main reason (besides to keep them updated) is to prevent them from falling off the domain (aka Trust Relationship).
  21. I haven't tested this myself but here's a technet blog https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/anilm/2012/05/05/managing-workgroup-clients-in-configuration-manager-2012/ that talks about how to install the client on non-domain joined systems. I believe (and I could be wrong), but as long as the client is connected to the network, it shouldn't matter whether the computer is domain joined or not.

  23. Magnum, What you could do is copy and modify your current task sequence and change the Apply Network settings or Join domain step to join a Workgroup. Then create a separate task sequence that prompts you for a computer name, and then joins the domain. Set it as available software, then run from Software Center. Although, unless there is some specific reason you don't just want to have a computer imaged and already joined to the domain?
