  1. Personally, I don't mess with it but if I needed to I would use a GPO.
  2. Appdeploy repackager is my favorite. Simple to use and free. http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/how-to-use-the-appdeploy-repackager
  3. Appdeploy repackager is a favorite of mine. It's free and will create an MSI package for you. Simple and it works - you can't ask for much more than that.
  4. have you checked the hard drive mode in the BIOS? if it is set to ATAPI or SCSI change it... this has caused some rebooting issues with PC's for me.
  5. ok... how? I think that may be what he is really asking.
  6. Where is your DP? I bet your DP and the folders you are storing your images on are located on the same drive. If so, a 15gig image takes up 30 gig. You might want to consider moving some packages and WIM's to another DP...
  7. If it is a memeber of the collection "Unknown Computers" there is a TS variable that you can add so that it prompts you for the name. There really isn't a need to sysprep a machine in OSD(IMHO) If the machine is already known by SCCM it will grab the old system name and use it.

    License Key

next step to activate it: cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ato
  9. This is a great idea. I'm interested to see what you find out.
  10. There are a couple of ways that I do it. The easiest way is to just put it on your initial image before you capture it. Nice, but hard to make changes without jumping through hoops The next way that I've done it is to create a self extracting archive that goes to the allusers desktop. Create a package and deploy the package during OSD or to a collection. This is a good way to do it but uninstalling the sortcuts when you upgrade to a newer version or when you want to remove them can be a bit of a pain. The third way to do it that is the "cleanest" is to create a group policy pref. and set it to "replace" so that it removes the shortcut(s) when they are no longer needed. Hope this helps.
  11. All you need to do is take the SCCM install disk (or mount the ISO) and install it on Win7 follow the prompts and you should be golden!
  12. a big issue is what flavor of the OS are you using? If you are using Enterprise then Bitlocker is creating an invisible C: drive.
  13. You have to set the program to run if a user is logged in or not and give it admin access for it to work in an OSD task sequence. Hope this helps.
  14. Can I get the details? I am new to SCCM and trying to figure this out.
