2012 SP1 CU1

Recommended Posts

they will work fine with the sp1 client but it's advisable to have both the clients and servers running the same version

the CU1 upgrade process creates the needed packages so you can easily target your clients with the update

Is it possible to bring up the Softwareupdate based Clientinstallation to SP1 CU1? Or is the only way for new clients to install the SP1 via WSUS and then update to SP1-CU1 via SCCM in a second step? The Properties Windows of Softwareupdate based Clientinstallation offers only the old SP1 (5.00.7804.1000) version. Deploying of the SP1-CU1 package works...

Ok. I know about the patch, I was just hoping there was a way to have new clients install the patched version instead of having them install the client and then still need to be patched.

yes you can do this, you just have to populate the patch property of the client installation package...

e.g. for a osd task sequence:

you have to adjust the path...

same can be done unter Administration->Client Installation Settings->Client Push Instatallation Properties

you can even add multiple patches like this (this is tha same like in sccm 2007):

 PATCH="\\server.local\SMSPKGD$\VIE00003\i386\hotfix\KB977384\sccm2007ac-sp2-kb977384-x86-enu.msp";"\\server.local\SMSPKGD$\VIE00003\i386\hotfix\KB2509007\sccm2007ac-sp2-kb2509007-x86-enu.msp";"\\server.local\smspkge$\VIE000BC\sccm2007ac-sp2-kb2698619-x86-enu.msp"
