  1. Thanks, I will try this out. I am only wanting to keep my "base" image updated with Offline Servicing.
  2. How do I remove updates from the All Software Updates? I've removed WSUS and the SUP on the primary site because I wanted to start over. The icons are showing with a blank x but there doesn't seem to be a way to remove these from the console.
  3. Can you please explain how you are updating the base image or point me to a guide? Thanks,
  4. What is the best way to keep the base image updated? Is there a guide on how to do this?
  5. Resolved this issue by resetting the Network Access Account. I noticed something strange with regards to this. When using a particular Network Access Account it gives you an option to "verify" a share. I noticed that even if I put in the incorrect password, it still was able to verify access. Not sure if that is a bug or the way in which it was designed.
  6. I was able to get past this error but now I am receiving an error when applying the operating system. Error 0x800700002. I have attached my log file.
  7. I've noticed a couple of errors in my smsts.log file: unknown host (gethostbyname failed) sending with winhttp failed; 80072ee7 Failed to get information from MP: http://SCCM01.contoso.com. 80072ee7 I have no idea how the 3rd error is even listed. SCCM01.contoso.com is in my development environment and has nothing to do with my production environment, in fact, they aren't even on the same network.
  8. Yes, the task sequence needs to be deployed to the "All Unknown Computers" collection.
  9. I am receiving a task sequence error 0x80004005? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Once, I made it past this particular error and during the installation it errored out again with error 0x8007002. UPDATE: I've attached my smsts.log file.
  10. Does performing a site reset resolve any issues with shares? For some reason, the admin account I've used to install SCCM is not able to access any of the default shares anymore. The admin account is a local administrator and is a domain admin account. The reason I ask this is because I am receiving an error during a task sequence, specifcally 0x80004005. From what I've been able to gather, it's a permissions issue. I've set my network access account to use the same administrator account I used to install SCCM. Is there a particular log file that shows issues with task sequences?
  11. dismgr didn't have anything specific to resolving these errors. I was able to resolve the error by opening up the secondary site database and removing a duplicate key. The boot image was distributed properly after that.
  12. I am receiving this error in my production environment now. I am using a network account that should have access to the shares so I am not really sure what's up.
  13. Errors 2326 and 2302 on the secondary sites SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER component.
  14. I am having a weird error where I am unable to distribute my boot image to my secondary site. I have two secondary sites and one of the sites receives the boot image fine. "Failed to save content status" Distibution Manager failed to save package status for package "BHM00004" to the site database. Possible cause: SQL Server problem. Solution: Review immediately preceding status messages from this component about SQL Server errors. Verify that this computer can reach the SQL Server computer. Verify that SQL Server services are running. Verify that the site server can access the site database. Verify that the site database, transaction log, and tempdb are not full. I've completed steps 1-5 and still unable to distibute the boot image. All sites and components are "OK." I've distubuted other content to the secondary site without any issues.
  15. I am having an issue with distributing the 64-bit boot image to my secondary site distribution points. I have the following setup: Primary Site Secondary Site 1 Secondary Site 2 The boot image is distributed to one of the secondary site distribution sites fine. The only error I see is "Failed to save content status" and "Distribution Manager failed to save package status for package. It looks like it could be a SQL error but I have no SQL issues. I am able to connect to the secondary site database from the primary site. Any suggestions? distmgr.log is as follows: STATMSG: ID=2301 SEV=I LEV=M SOURCE="SMS Server" COMP="SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER" SYS=PRDSCCMBHM02.askcts.com SITE=BHM PID=2496 TID=3736 GMTDATE=Fri Oct 19 17:46:01.871 2012 ISTR0="Boot image (x64)" ISTR1="BHM00004" ISTR2="" ISTR3="" ISTR4="" ISTR5="" ISTR6="" ISTR7="" ISTR8="" ISTR9="" NUMATTRS=1 AID0=400 AVAL0="BHM00004" I've tried to redistribute the content through the Boot image (x64) properties but am having the same error. It's important to note that the Boot image (x86) worked fine for all of my distribution points.
  16. You can use .exe for Applications. You just need to choose the option that says, "Manually specify the application information" on the first page of the Create Application Wizard. I am working on getting Office 2010 deployed this way with customization's and will post back here with my results.
  17. I am receiving a Task Sequence error now. "Failed to Run Task Sequence This task sequence cannot be run because the program files for ATL00004 cannot be located on a distribution point. For more information, contact your system administrator or helpdesk operator." I have distributed the image installer, the configuration manager client update package, and both boot images to the distrubution point. Do you have to distribute the task sequence to the distribution point too? What am I doing wrong?
  18. Everything is on the same network (using the same Private Virtual Network adapter). It appears that the virtual machine (REF01) is actually getting the correct IP. I only have 2 servers, DC01 which has AD/DS, DNS and DHCP. SCCM01 has Configuration Manager 2012 and also hosts the SQL database. After removing the virtual machine from the All Systems device collection and restarting WDS, I received the same error. Did the following to get it to work: Removed the device from the All Systems collection Restarted DHCP Rebooted the SCCM server There is still an issue with my Task Sequence, but at least I got PXE to work properly.
  19. I think I am getting a little closer. On the DHCP server, I've set the option 66 and 67. 66 Boot Server Host Name - SCCM01 67 Boot Filename - boot\x86\wdsnbp.com I am getting the following error now. SMSPXE.log
  20. PXE-E53 on the client. I don't have an SMSTS.log file. I have an SMSPXE log file though. I will post the results in a few. F8 does nothing on the client. Neither does F12.
  21. I am not able to get this to work. Are you required to install WDS in order to get PXE to work? My understanding is that Configuration Manager took the place of WDS now. My virtual machine only displays the MAC Address. It is using the Legacy Network Adapter and PXE has been enabled on the 3 things discussed in the guide.
  22. Can you please go through how you setup the networking in Hyper-V? I simply cannot get PXE boot to work using my current settings (using Private network for my DC and SCCM box). Are you assigning static IP addresses to these machines?
  23. Hello, I am having issues with the database replication link failing on CM 2012. Here is a more detailed post on what's going on. Any advice would be much appreciated. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmanagergeneral/thread/be1f9957-37b2-4a0e-bc3a-8f22eec3dce8?prof=required
  24. I am trying to run a report from Software > Companies and Products > Computers with a specific name and version, however, the Product Name, and Product Version drop down lists are empty. Can you explain how to populate a list?
