  2. rebuilding my lab....stupid me thought i was down with it for a while :S what exactly do they need access to in each of these areas? full admin access to each respective areas? or just a subset? for things like software distribution you also need to grant access to advertisements, and packages. Once i have the lab up and running i'll check it out but without applying (production system screenshot) http://yfrog.com/6gsoftwaredistuserj
  3. have you included in your ts to do a use of the mdt source package and then a gather?
  4. http://www.scriptlogic.com/products/privilegeauthority/?elq=3ea166ba9cc0474eb607081bb5b1ac1e useful tool was released lately, using it in a customer deployment for installing activex.... kind of interesting ui, however works well with GPO
  5. you can install onn multiple workstations no issues, just launch the sccm installer on the workstation and select admin console install.... make sure the pc has rights to the DB and DBServer and you should be ok.
  6. nah, permissions are ok, puts the file there, just doesnt seem to work...weird
  7. yeah its a bit tricky, you have to install about 5pieces of software, but it works fine under a ts. need to research the commandline parameters of each application to make it a bit easier on yourself.
  8. what OS? dont experience it much in vista or win7 .... in windows xp i slipstreamed the drivers using nlite and then used that source to deploy from using the standard OSD procedures
  9. check out: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa751974(VS.85).aspx or if you've already got the ocx file you could just regsrv the control regsrv <.ocx> only in xp though....
  10. yeap, you need both boot images in place for it to work from pxe.

    Deploy Windows 7

If you haven't enabled F8 support do so by ( Clicking here ) Then press f8 to bring up your command prompt see if you can ping your server? by your logs is is returning a host not found which looks more like a dns issue. CLibSMSMessageWinHttpTransport::Send: URL: SCCMTEST1.TEST.COM:87 CCM_POST /ccm_system/request Error. Received 0x80072ee7 from WinHttpSendRequest. unknown host (gethostbyname failed) check that is working... also, i suggest disabling NAP in your lab until you get it working
  12. i am.... but i need to try all methods... the sccm intergration worked first go... i packaged chrome and filezilla client and BAM! perfect... actually i was amazed at how simple it was, almost not like a microsoft technology at all.... the other app im trying to get working is an internal app that is a win 98/NT4 Terminal App for our AS400 farm... more of an issue.. SCCM Intergration worked perfectly though,

  14. no much luck as yet, cant seem to get appv publishing servers to respond to appv client :S
  15. edit: check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599 for more info
  16. CTFMON monitors the active window and changes the input language to suit that window... very annoying and in japanese keyboards we use the tilde (~) to cycle through the keyboard sets.... its not required so we disable it.
  17. Cool, glad to see you got it working. No you don't have to use en-us, we use it because we are in japan and need a global standard for our SOE's.....
  18. Im building a lab for this right now.... will see how it goes....
  19. We don't use this atm as we require the en-US pack but you can edit to support en-AU easily enough i assume
  20. EJon, We do it as follows, then also run a registry hack... RemoveUSEnglish.reg Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar] "ShowStatus"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload] "1"="00000c09" "2"=- "3"=- "4"=- "5"=- "6"=- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "CTFMON.EXE"=- [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar] "ShowStatus"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload] "1"="00000c09" "2"=- "3"=- "4"=- "5"=- "6"=- [HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "CTFMON.EXE"=-
  21. check that the machine account in sccm is not obsolete / is active ..... see if there is a duplicate device... and clean that up..
  22. still looking through logs... theres nothing i can see in logs so digging bit deeper into network traffic... I thought was because i removed the boot images and re-added, forgot to add back to the TS... but, once they were back in place same issue... about an hour after all replication finished all came back to life
