  1. I did verify that SYSTEM has effective permissions all the way down. Its also on the share, but when I run a CMD using PSTOOLS as system I get access denied. I verified with our Storage Administrator, and all permissions are setup correctly. So i'm not sure what is causing this....
  2. Hello All! I'm having an issue after moving our package source from a Win2k8 server to our SAN. I created a CIFS share gave everyone permissions and moved all package source folders over to the new location. I went in and updated the source path in each package so it points to the correct location. At this point permissions were added for the Site Server (which is the DP) and the SMS service account. i've tried to refresh a package to make sure it was able to correctly access the share. I also went to the package source for a package directly was able to see effective permissions correctly for the server and all users. But i'm getting the below errors: I'm ripping my hair out here and not sure why this is happening. I've tried other packages that were previously created and there all having the same problem. Its as if this server can't access the share. Can someone help me out please. Thanks!
  3. I've ran out of ideas, and google isn't helping, so not sure why these are stalling and always doing this, but if someone can help me figure out what to troubleshoot next that would be great. Thanks!

  5. I'm experiencing the same issue w/ ProBook 6560B. I read online that you can use a older version of the driver but i've ran out of options. I'm not sure which version of WinPE I have all I know is I see this version: 6.1.7600.16385 will this version not work with newer Intel chipsets? Any ideas would help, I've got a ton of ProBooks to deploy.
  6. Found out the Intel driver has quirks and will not work with WinPE. Went and found another version that actually had a WinPE .INF file. After that I was able to import but WinPE still does not recognize driver.... Oh well off to find another driver. (5th times the charm right?)
  7. Hello All! I'm trying to inject NIC drivers for a HP ProBook 6560B, as winpe does not get network access due to no driver I need to inject it so I can do a capture of a reference PC. I mount the .WIM image and use the following command to inject a driver: dism /image:"C:\Temp\mount" /add-driver /driver:"C:\temp\drivers\nic\rt64win7.inf" After doing this I get the following error: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools>dism /image:"C:\temp\mount" /add-driv er /driver:"C:\temp\NIC_Driver\E1E6032.inf" Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Image Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Found 1 driver package(s) to install. Any help would be appriciated. Best Regards!
  8. Hello, I have a issue, where updates will get pushed to a client even though they are already past there deadline they will NOT force install. I'm trying to deploy windows 7 and push updates after all applications are installed, but the updates just wait for user intervention. Anyway to force it to install once the updates download? Thanks!
  9. Hey All! When we upgraded to R3, I know we had to push a HotFix out to clients to recognize the Power Management module, but I noticed the client that resides in SMS_<SITE> does not get updated. I'm trying to keep my techs from installing the client and THEN the hotfix, as we've had problems getting the hotfix to work correctly on windows 7 boxes. I was wondering, is there a updated client that has the hotfix already applied so that PC's that are manually built get the correct client. Thanks!
  10. Hello All! Was wondering if you can help me figure this out. I'm trying to run AutoDesk AutoCAD 2011 via a RAP. I had initial issues getting it to download the whole 2.9GB due to file length (long story but it causes BITS to fail). I found through the vendor I can use a .LNK file that has a set of configuration parameters set to basically go to a network share and install the application. But i'm running into the following problem: 1) I can not get a .LNK file to run via RAP 2) I've created a .CMD file that basically does the following: For some reason i've gone one step further and taken out the COPY portion and just to see if the .CMD would create a directory but for some reason I get a error stating that its a illegal policy that the files in source do not match what is being downloaded (I assume beacuse of the folder being created) I would just like to be able to install 2 versions of AutoCAD using this .LNK file, I have searched Google and can not find if rundll32 can be called via RAP. I've tried running the command: cmd /c echo rundll32 shell32.dll,ShellExec_RunDLL "\\esus\package source\AutoDesk AutoCAD 2011\AutoCAD_2011.lnk" as the program line instead of "AutoCAD_2011.lnk" but things fail either as a Bad Environment error, or just a general fail. Sometimes I'll actually get a success but nothing actually happens which is somewhat amusing. Any help would be great. Thanks!
  11. I'm having a terrible time trying to find what is really required (environment wise) for SCCM OSD deployment. I want to go ahead and use a TS to deploy the OS. I don't plan on capturing a image as W7 base image comes with all drivers and as of right now we are not saving any user data as we use folder redirection. So my question is..... Do I need to have MDT? I was able to get a base install to work previously (barring my other issue from another post which is still happening!) I've gone through the guides here and its never mentioned which to me means its not needed. But can someone let me know any benefits of it? What the goal is, is to have a base vanilla image and then stack all the needed prorams as RAP's. I have windows updates working correctly and have some packages working but want to make sure I have things setup correctly before moving forward. Thanks!
  12. I took a stab at it today... Not sure if i'll throw the server or hug it... But I went in and did a net use and connected Q:\ directly to the package folder that is shared \\sccm1.......\smspkge$\cr100021 and without entering a username/password for net use it says "The password is invalid for \\sccm1.......\cr100021" I tried doing a net use on my local PC and I get the same thing. Is there a awy to see what username the WinPE users to connect to shares? I know nothing has changed the NAA user is unlocked has its password set to never expire and never change password. I talked to the server admin he says network/service accounts are never changed and thats part of there process for the environment. We both looked at the SCCM server, verified share permissions are set to unlimited and only seen the 1 concurrent connection I created manually to the share. I'm not setting the NAA account to Domain Admin access to see if it changes anything. I went through and recreated EVERYTHING, I recreated the Boot Image and pushed it to my DP which is the main SCCM server (we only have 1 site, 1 SCCM server, and 2 remote DP's for low speed network segments). I had it re setup the .WIM file for installation which SCCM took with no problem. Those are both out on the DP's. Is there some service (besides MS we can pay) to have them troubleshoot this for us?
  13. K i've looked all over Google and everything points to a NAA being needed. But I verified there is a NAA account i've set taht account with FULL PERMISSION to the whole Package Drive E: where all packages are stored. I've verifed I can have regular packages run just fine its ONLY WHEN THE SYSTEM reboots does this issue happen, I can install Flash and Office 2010 no problem to these test machines. Can someone give some insight.... What I don't get is this was working only about 2 weeks ago, then I started working on WU being pushed through RAP which I got that working, decided to go back to my OSD and start making WU work with it and now my whole deployment is screwed. How can this happen????
  14. I'm not sure what is going on now. I allowed the network access account full access to the drive where all packages are stored and nothing has changed. Anyone else got any ideas on why I would be getting those permission errors? I'm able to deploy the package, it restarts in WinPE but when it goes to apply the OS it then has this permission error. How is this even possible when it downloads the WinPE package? Sadly the company who set this up isn't available till May to assist us on deployment, and I would really like to get this accomplished before that time.
  15. Does the SMSPKGE$ share that resides all deployment and software packages need to have this network access account assigned to them? Whats weird is this stuff was working and i don't remember there being access to this folder from this network account. Thanks!
  16. Where would I go to change this? To the permissions for that package and add the network account? Sorry, still learning this as I go so not sure if SCCM handles permissions it self. Thanks!
  17. Not sure why but when my OSD TS does a reboot into WinPE, it goes and formats the HDD, and it starts to download the Windows Image .WIM file and I get access denied errors. I looked at the permissions for the share folder and it looks correct. I can connect to my computer using its DNS name and to SCCM and copy over the SMSTS.log file. The screenshot "permission.jpg" is the permissions as well as the user I use to activate the TS to start. If someone can help that would be great.... smsts.log wpeinit.log
  18. Fixed the issue, found through a report based on package ID, that a SCCM client install package was not pushed to DP, once that was fixed it resolved the issue. So basically ANYTIME you have a weird mismatch make sure every single package thats linked is updated to the DP. This is a noob mistake, but one i won't make again!
  19. This is what I receive from the CAS.LOG file, I have a mismatch in my packages. I verified I only have ONE file inside the package folder, can someone tell me how to fix this mismatch.
  20. Thanks for commenting! I went through all 4 parts, only parts I excluded was the PXE boot new client in Part 1. Reason i had to exclude that portion, was due to the environment not being setup for PXE deployments. I will be installing the PXE Role as well as WDS both were not installed. Even though M$ says its not needed (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693934.aspx) Section: Configuration Manager 2007-Initiated Operating System Deployments This is my first OSD deployment, but i've created some simple packages and have managed to self learn enough to be dangerous I will check that log file tomorrow and post what it says.
  21. Hating Win7 OSD RAP deployment HELP!!

  22. Hello All! I'm very new to SCCM 2007 R3 but somehow have gotten familiar with it within a week. This installation was setup by another company to help assist in our Office2010 deployment. My issue is: I created a TS for Win7 OSD, I made sure that the updated packages were uploaded to the DP with the correct version #'s. I'm noticing errors though when I attempt to run the RAP. Error Window Message on Client: "The requested software cannot be located. The system might be in the process of transferring these files. Try again later or if this operation continues to fail after several attempts, please contact your administrator or helpdesk operator." I made sure that: - Boot image PE x86 is pushed to the DP, which is the main SCCM server. - .WIM for Win7 is pushed as a package to the DP. Made sure that the version it was looking for is the ONLY ONE IN THE DIRECTORY. - SCCM client which I attached as a program to install after OS install is at DP and it downloads correctly. For some reason I get these errors in the logs: CAS.log In the log SMSTS.log, I have no updates for todays tries only last nights. But the package is still the same, and YES I know this looks like a authentication issue. But i'm using a Domain admin account which has security rights in SCCM, I'm also able to access SCCM hidden package share. If I can somehow find the folder these packages are stored ON SCCM I can verify permissions. But so far I can copy the file from SCCM no problem. EXECMGR.LOG I've tried looking on the server but i'm not sure which log i should investigate there. It seems as if package CR1000016 version 1 is the issue. But i looked in that folder and there is NO other versions of this file. I'm lost.... My test PC is in the same network segment as the SCCM server which is the DP and all the other services combined. We do not have a complex SCCM environment. Right now from what i'm told it is setup as such: SCCM 2007 SP2 R3. I do know that PXE Service Point is not installed but we do NOT want a PXE installation, we want a RAP based advertisement. Please help, as i'm losing more hair a day then a average person should. Thanks! :D
