Peter van der Woude Posted November 21, 2011 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 You need to do it side-by-side then... In short it comes down to: Build new server with SCCM Upgrade SMS server to SCCM Connect new server to old server Let them sync Remove the connection
Jorgen Nilsson Posted November 21, 2011 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 You cannot do an upgrade directly from SMS 2003 x86 to SCCM 2007 x64. what you can do besides the side-by-side scenario that Peter suggested is the following: Upgrade the SMS Server to SCCM Then install new sever x64 with sql x64 with same name .e.t.c Follow the hardware upgrade steps detailed here: http://kobile.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/moving-sccm-server-to-new-hardware/ Then you can move to the x64 platform and SCCM 2007, note that all path's and disk layout must be identical!! I would probably go for the side-by-side migration myself, but in some scenarios just must upgrade SMS2003 because it is to much work to install a new site and move everything. regards, jörgen
