SCCM 2007

Recommended Posts

We currently use SCCM 2007 R3 for Application deployment, OSD etc but not MS udates

We have an existing WSUS server system that does the updates.

My question is, Can I import the updates into SCCM 2007 but not deploy them. I would like to do this to updates machines during the ODS phase

Or is there a better method?

The company do not want to use SCCM for the updates at this time

Thanks

Hi,

You can use ZTIWindowsUpdate.wsf from the MDT toolkit to deploy updates from WSUS during OSD, Chris Nackers has a great post of how to do it here: http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/cnackers/archive/2011/04/28/using-ztiwindowsupdate-wsf-to-install-updates-in-a-system-center-configuration-manager-task-sequence.aspx

Hi

I am now using this method and it works well, apart from it only does ONE pass of the WSUS server then installs some updates then reboots. Then it scans for pass TWO but installs nothing here even though its only installed 7 updates from pass ONE.

Once the machine has finished the OSD process all the other updates install

Is this right or should ALL updates install during the process of the "ZTIWindowsUpdate.wsf" script

Thanks
