  1. I have MDT set up at 15 locations. They all use the same basic image but put the computers in different OUs, set the time to different time zones and different languages. I currently have local IT support that applies the images but the Task Sequence has a user built in to it that has rights to create/add the computer the AD. Is there a way to have OSD in SCCM ask the user for the computer name, OU (with a drop down), Time Zone (with a drop down, or default based on IP address) and Language (with a drop down, or default based on IP address)? I don't want to give the local IT support rights to SCCM to add the computer manually nor do I want to add more steps for them. What part of the guides do I use since I already have an image (in WIM format)?
  2. That is for IE11, IE10 doesn't list it https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2818833/en-us/
  3. I finally got it working. Microsoft doesn't list it but KB2834140 seems to be a requirement.
  4. If I block IE11 using the toolkit and manually check for updates from Microsoft, IE10 is an available update. The computer knows it needs it and it isn't blocked...
  5. So you can't do anything like you could with packages and update the sources files then update the distribution points?
  6. Nope. I never used the toolkit to block installation.
  7. I have Adobe Reader set up as an application. I have 10 deployment types (10 different languages). When I originally set it up, it was for 11.0.09. Now 11.0.10 is out. How do I have my clients install the new version? Do I have to create a new Application and new Deployment Types (all 10) and supersede it? Is there an easier way to do it so that I don't have to create new Deployment Types every time an update comes out? The way Adobe releases updates, having to create a new Application and Deployment Types each time will get cumbersome fast.
  8. I thought that might be it but even after I manually installed that update, the SCCM server still shows that the update isn't required.
  9. I did fix it but don't remember how. I think I may have ended up rebuilding my secondary sites.
  10. That doesn't seem to be it. It say 9.0.8112.16421
  11. I posted this in the Software Update Point forum but haven't gotten any replies so I'm going to post it here... I want to deploy IE10 to the computers in my domain. I'm using SCCM/SUP to push out updates to my computers. I approved IE10 (both 32bit and 64bit) and 75% of the computers that need the update are showing up as not needing it. Why is this? When looking at a report (Software Updates - A Compliance > Compliance 6 - Specific software update states (secondary)) I get this: State Count of Computers % of Total Update is not required 1343 73.27% Update is installed 293 15.98% Update is required 125 6.82% Detection state unknown 72 3.93% Total 1833 100.00% If I look in the Deployment status in the SCCM Console (Monitoring > Deployments) and look at a specific computer, it says the computer is compliant even though I know it still has IE9 on it. If I look at the computer that it says is compliant but still has IE9 in the SCCM Console (Assets and Compliances) it says Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems is deployed to it. How do I get this working?

  13. I was hoping there was something that would make it so that when they added packages, the package wouldn't need to be copied over the WAN.
  14. There isn't a way to put a management server over there? I want to store the source of their packages over there but keep ours over here.
  15. I have a question. I have one site with the primary server in the US. I have IT admins that are in Germany and we want them to be able to manage SCCM from there. How do I give them the ability to manage the environment from there? I'm particularly concerned with how they will add new packages without it being super slow (based on the line speed and latency).
  16. I fixed it. I had to change the re-evaluation schedule in the client settings. I changed it from 7 days to 3 days. Thanks for the help everyone.
  17. There aren't any maintenance windows defined. The deployment is set to "as soon as possible" and software installation is set to happen outside the maintenance window when the deadline is reached.
  18. Is there a way to get around the client cache size limit when installing applications? Lets say I want to install Office 2010, Lync 2013 and Project 2010 on a computer. With the languages need in the installation package/application, I am looking at almost 5.5GB of software. If I keep the cache at 5GB, how do I have it install all 3 applications without having to either increase the cache size or have it install in batches so that it will over write the cache (after 24 hours)?
  19. I have a handful of applications that have the status "past due - will be installed" that don't install until I select them and click on install. Any idea why they don't install automatically? What logs should I check to see why this is happening?
  20. Anyone? I recreated the package and it is still failing on the one DP, even creating prestage content fails (sort of). The prestage content loads fine but sometime later (not sure when exactly), that DP changes the status from successful to failed. Other packages are loading fine on that DP. Help please.
  21. I have 14 locations with distribution points on Windows 7. I started playing with OSD and I know that distribution points on Windows 7 can't have the OSD on them because W7 doesn't support WDS/PXE. Should I reconfigure my distribution points so that they are on Server 2008? How hard is it do have two servers per site, one with my regular packages on W7 and one with my OS images for OSD on Server 2008? Would I need to have all packages on Server 2008 or just my OS images, drivers and boot images? Can you install a DP on a domain controller?
  22. So I don't need to create the task sequence to get the information on the deployment share?
  23. I am working on setting up SCCM to handle OSD. I currently use MDT to deploy with a separate image for each site. It is becoming a hassle to maintain so I want to switch to SCCM. Looking at the guides, it looks like it is different between SCCM 2012 RTM and SCCM 2012 SP1. The guides for SP1 don't have anything about integrating MDT. Do I use the guide for step 7 for SCCM 2012 SP1 and then parts 8, 12 and 16 from the RTM guides?
