  1. Since this is just a distribution point and not a primary or secondary server, there isn't an inboxes folder that I can find.
  2. Where do I find the despooler inbox when it is only a distribution point?
  3. The package name is HOL0001B. Source Server is Holland-SCCM.ad.saf-holland.biz Destination Server is Bangkok-FS-FO.ad.saf-holland.biz the drive is M. I started the transfer around 8AM Eastern and it failed around 3:00PM Eastern. PkgXferMgr.log
  4. I have a package that I have distributed to most of my DP's. I have one DP that it will not distribute to. I have tried reinstalling the DP; exporting the package, copying it over manually and then using extractcontent.exe to import it; removed the package from the DP and adding it back, etc. with no luck. The content from PrestageContent.log is: When I look at the Content Status, it shows failed and this for the More Details: I don't really see much in the PkgXferMgr.log file. I can post that if you want. The remote server has sufficient rights and disk space. Other packages have been copied to it without issue. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
  5. Like with programs, users can "reinstall" if they have already been installed. Can you do the same with appications?
  6. Thanks. What about letting users reinstall? Is there a way to do that?
  7. Ok, but say I have it a the default of 5Gb. If I have two packages set to install on a computer, one that is 3.5Gb and one that is 3Gb. Will I have to increase the size to at least 6.5Gb or will it install one, clean up the files and then install the other? Also, is there a way to to let users "reinstall" programs?
  8. Does that mean I have to have my cache size large enough to hold all of my applications? Can I have batch files or exe files run as an application or only msi files?
  9. Thanks. That doesn't appear to work so I guess I will try to figure out a way to silently install with the exe.
  10. Is there a way to have applications install from the distribution point like you can with Packages? Is there also an equivalent to the assignment schedule that Packages have? I.E. repeat every X hours?
  11. I have an application that is an EXE. If I open it with 7zip, I see a .rsrc folder, .text file, .orpc file, etc. Is there a way to extract an MSI from the file?
  12. So I would need to batch files, one to install (since users can't install it) and one to start it up? What is the best way to link them? What happens if there isn't a user signed on when the program installs?
  13. We have an application that was built in-house. The application is supposed to run all of the time but I need to start it up after installation (otherwise it starts on reboot). It is installed with a batch script so that the program gets installed and then started. SCCM starts the program but in the "System" context. How do I start it up in a user context?
  14. Sorry. Lets see if this clears it up. I use MDT to create new computers. After the computer is created/joined to the domain there is a period of time when the SCCM client isn't installed and the computer goes to Microsoft for updates. During this time, I would like to use Group Policy to have the computer go to my internal WSUS server so that it doesn't try to install all of the updates Microsoft lists. How do I do this? I've tried creating a GPO but when I do, the SCCM client logs says the update source is overwritten by Group Policy and doesn't work. Make sense?
  15. I want to use a GPO to point new domain clients to an internal WSUS server so that they don't download updates from Microsoft (in case they haven't been tested and approved by us). When I do this, SCCM updates don't work because the GPO preferences take precedence. How do I set it up so that new clients don't install updates before SCCM SUP is set up?
  16. No, I have never edited any reports before.
  17. I guess my question is - how? I'm editing the report in SQL Server Report Builder but how do I add the field to it?
  18. Ok, thanks. Do you know if there is a way to add the processor type (PIII, P4, Celeron, etc.) to that report?
  19. CM12R2. I don't see that report anywhere. Where can I find it?
  20. I have been asked to create a new report that is limited to Windows XP clients that shows the computer name, memory installed, hard drive size and processor speed. I'm unsure of how to do this. Can anyone point to a good resource on creating reports or show me how to do it?
  21. I currently have 1 primary site with 8 secondary sites (and 8 remote distribution points). I'm thinking of changing my secondary sites to just distribution points. The maximum number of clients at a site is 200. Is there a reason to keep them as secondary sites? How much more data is pushed over the WAN/LAN between the clients and primary site as opposed to a secondary site and primary site? Am I reading the documentation correctly that I can have up to 250 distribution points?
  22. Anyone? I am getting this on most of my secondary sites (5 of 8) and reinstalling those secondary sites doesn't seem to help.
