Console cannot connect to site after in-place upgrade of site server from 2008 r2 to 2012 r2
By t0meck,
Hi,
I had old installation of sccm 2012 r2 sp1 on 2008 r2 with sql 2008 r2 on same server.
I wanted to start deploy windows 10 (1703) but it turned out that this version is supported only on newest SCCM 1702.
So I have upgraded sccm 2012 to 1606 using baseline media and then to 1610 using sccm console in administration section.
Then I have installed 2 patches which were issued to 1610. I checked if installation of 1702 will pass but it failed.
Then I have done OS upgrade from

By nazimb,
Currently working on a Windows 10 project , I want to get your input on how you distribute your image to the different departments: same image for all users , based on application security groups, or different task sequences for each department. Please share how you proceed and what do you recommend.
Microsoft best practices
By hooligan88,
Hi Experts,
I am currently designing a Current Branch implementation for a customer who continues to ask for a Microsoft best practice evidence/ documentation. From whatever I have gathered over my past years of experience, i have never really come across a single "best practice rulebook" as one size can never fit all. In any case, could you guys direct me to any such guide which has design decisions/ used cases documented? other than these https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-des
F8 will not bring up command prompt!
By jfdensmore,
When i try an OSD Task Sequence, it fails with at applying operating system, Error: 0x80070002. So i want to view the smsts.log file to see what is goin on, But F8 will not bring up the command prompt. I had verified that enable command support is checked. Then i updated windows assessment and deployment kit, and i noticed that the Customization tab is gone? What am i missing? This is a new install of 1702, and my first attempt at an OSD.
Deploying non-MSI applications?
By CavalierIT,
I have a few applications I'd like to deploy using our SCCM that do not have MSI files available.
What is the process for getting them into SCCM? Do I need to buy a third party utility to package them? If so, what do you recommend?
SUP/WSUS Issues
By broonster,
Hi There,
I have a single site server (v1702) with WSUS and SUP role on the same box. Everything has been running fine (mostly) for years but all of a sudden my client machines can no longer get updates. When syncing with the ClientWebService in IIS I get errors like these. The 0x80072ee2 error is a timeout i believe
I tried tweaking some IIS settings and increasing the RAM for the WSUS application pool thinking IIS was struggling with but that hasn't helped.
Looking at the logs

Error 87D00269 installing Applications during TS
By Lagamorph,
Hi all,
I've created a Task Sequence to deploy a non-domain joined Windows Server 2016 build however it fails whenever trying to install an Application with the following error,
"Failed to run the action: Install Nagios Opsview.
Required management point not found (Error: 87D00269; Source: CCM)"
I've found this thread on the issue, https://www.windows-noob.com/forums/topic/10746-error-0x87d00269-when-installing-application/ , and I've put a step into the task sequence before the I
