  1. Actually, I've decided to start over. I've spent too much time on this, and I'm confident I screwed up big time somewhere in installation of SQL or Cfg Mgr, or that something was seriously wrong with my boundaries. I appreciate you all taking time to look at this, and thanks, Niall for all the brilliant guides!
  2. 1. I select Bootable media 2. Site-based media 3. \\servername\e$\whatever.iso 4. Enable unknown computer support, no password protection, self-signed media cert, no UDA 5. Boot image: I've tried a few boot images, both standard and MDT created. Select my DP and MP 6. No customizations or prestart commands Seems pretty straight forward, but perhaps I'm missing something.
  3. The SQL memory requirements seem a bit excessive to me. We have a very small environment, maybe 300 machines, tops. Would 3 GB memory be enough to allocate for SQL?
  4. Yeah. SUP looks fine, all green. I have some warnings in Component Status about AD User Discovery and AD System Discovery and a warning in Site Status about Distribution Point on C$ (i have a NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS file on C: so I don't know why SCCM thinks a distribution point is located there. Maybe I've misunderstood something).
  5. Actually forgot to link to the guide: http://blogs.technet.com/b/mniehaus/archive/2011/08/13/deploying-office-2010-with-configuration-manager-2012-beta-2.aspx So if I understand you correctly: the App Catalog installation works on a clean test machine, with nothing else installed? But not on a computer in production, with other apps installed, perhaps Office 2007?
  6. Peter, I looked at your blog, and I'm not exactly sure about how I should set up my boundaries. We have set up a new SCCM 2012 server, and we want to migrate to it from our SCCM 2007 production server. Of course we don't want to assign any of the SCCM 2007 clients to the new site until it's ready for production. Here is how the boundaries are set up on the SCCM 2007 server: I have a few virtual machines who are connected directly to our physical network (DHCP), and I use those virtual machines to test OSD and what have you. The virtual machines IP subnets are included in the boundaries displayed in the picture. How would you propose I set up the boundaries so that only my VMs are assigned to the new site? Thank you!
  7. Have you unchecked Office 2007 from where you originally chose which products to sync updates for?
  8. On the client, go to c:\windows\ccmsetup and open ccmsetup.log and client.msi.log Open those with cmtrace.exe
  9. Does it install correctly when you do it manually from the setup.exe? Edit: I followed this guide and it worked to deploy Office through a device collection. Don't think I tried deploying it to the App Catalog, but it shouldn't make any difference.
  10. I wanted to put this topic in the main CM2012 forum, but I can't, for some reason. That's why it's posted here. Hello, I was really hoping someone could help me with this. Background information: - We have a CM07 server in a production environment. - I've set up a CM12 RTM server, following the guides in this forum, with the hopes of migrating soon. - I wanted to do OSD from scratch to learn more and to take advantage of new features in CM12. - I have a few virtual machines running for testing OSD/apps (these are the only clients managed by my CM12 server). - Since it's not possible to have two WDS servers running at the same time AFAIK (without using registry tweaks, the F11 trick, that by the way doesn't work for me) I have created a bootable TS media that I mount on the virtual machines whenever I want to test OSD. Now, to my problem: I can't figure out why my Build and Capture TS is failing on the Install Software Updates step. smsts.log file says: Failed to RefreshUpdates, hr=087d00272, followed by: Failed to run the action: Install Software Updates. Component is disabled (Error: 87D00272; Source: CCM). I have read about similar issues occurring in CM07 capture task sequences since the machine is joined to a Workgroup. The proposed solution was adding SMSSLP=FQDN to the client installation properties, but since that functionality is moved to the MP in CM12, it should be enough to specify SMSMP=FQDN in my case. It's not working anyway. Tried it to a Deploy TS also, where the machine is domain joined, but I got the same error. The error code 87D00272 returns no results on Google. This stumps me, as someone surely has had the same problem? Here is the relevant portions of the smsts.log file If someone had the chance to look at this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! 11. We had that problem also. What solved it was creating two Install Software Updates steps, that ran right after one another. No conditions set in the Options tab, just a normal ISU step.
  12. Would like to know that as well. Any updates on that? Thanks for all the great guides, they've helped me a lot.
  13. Hey, Click on Assets and Compliance --> Right click Device Collections --> Click Create Device Collection.
