This is a general plea for help, I have Installed a piece of software called KeyMangementServiceHost to allow me to install the offive 2010 KMS license on our server, how do you view if any request are been recieved and stuff like that. I tried the slmgr.vbs /dlv command, but that just gives me the details for W7 and not O2010, any ideas on how to do this?

I have 3 questions relating to KMS activation; 1st-can you have 64bit and 32bit KMS license on a single KMS host? 2nd-do you need to set up a separate KMS host for office 2010? if so how do you do this? 3rd-can you change a PC from MAK to KMS license? I have tried and it says that it is not a genuine license.

Yes this is possible, it's dependent on the license you give it, just make sure it's not a MAK key but the Server 2008 KMS. I hope that answers your question..

Let me explain, apparently according to MS when you receive a license you get two versions for Server 2008. One is a normal license, which will only activate KMS license's for Vista and Server 2008. Another license is for Server 2008 SP2, which will activate W7 as well as Server 2008 SP2. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear, but I only found out after speaking to the MS license department, as you know I was having problems setting up KMS. To confirm what type of license you have you need to open an elevated Cmdr session and type "slmgr.vbs /dli" if it says anything with Volume_ MAK in the Description field then it's the wrong type of license. I hope this makes sense, as it was something that caused me problems.

This is now resolved, I needed to contact Microsoft about it, but for future reference if anyone wants to know, if you want to issue out W7 KMS license you need to make sure that the server 2008 host has a genuine Server 2008 SP2 KMS license to start with, other wise you won't be able to use it for W7. We were scratching our heads about this, but I am glad it is now sorted.

Yes I have checked, it's not so much difficulty in following the instructions, it's just that I am getting an error message when I run the slmgr.vbs -ipk command... error is 0xC004F015...

Not sure whats happened but this has stopped now ... We rebuilt the WDS server in the end

Hi I need someones help with KMS,, first off we have 2 DNS servers, not sure if this will effect KMS or not. Secondly how do you deploy KMS Automatically to a new image created with WDS. We can deploy KMS manually as long as we enable the WMI in the Firewall. I am fairly new to KMS and not too sure if we have done things correctly.

Had to re-install server 2008 to get this back again....

Hi Just a quick plea for help!!. I had to re-install WDS on the 2008 server, which was not a problem, however since doing so, the Administrator Tools has disappeared from the Start menu. The only Administrative Tools that show up is "WDS"... any ideas? I have tried logging in as different users with admin rights, I even recreated a new profile, but that didn't help!

Nope still having problems, this comes back with an error message "setup unable to intialize check c:\windows" any ideas or a solution would be great!!! HELP!!

Okay this was solved a while back now... the solution was believe it or not was the XP license code. Don't ask me why as I don't know, but we put a different lic code in and it worked fine!

Okay, I have seen some of the vid, I have had to skip fwd a few times, but first impressions, it looks good.. very technical and to the point. It's aimed at the right targert audiance so there shouldn't be any issues with following the vid. I don't know too much about the topic so I wouldn't know if there were any errors or anything.... To be perfectly honest with you, it's a good vid although I had to turn my sound volume right up to hear it properly. Look forward to the rest...

Okay just to update.... we tried another license and that seems to work.... however it's asking to be activated? do you know how i can bypass this bit?

AVG were kind enough to send me a fix, which I am now testing, Ughh....... it don't work! I will check the appdeploy site....

Hi this appears to be an intermitten fault with AVG9.5. I can successfully capture and deploy an image of a PC or Laptop with AVG9.5 on it, but on some machines I get an error message that Say's the License is not correct and asks me to put a valid license in. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, I have contacted AVG, but I am still waiting for them to get back to me. Has any-one else encountered this problem?

OK... if anyone is interested, this has now been resolved, the problem was that the *wim file I was trying to use was Vista rather than W7.

What's the update on this.... do you have any stuff ready to view yet

Only thing I can think of is CamStudio.... it's free :, not sure if their web site is still going tho, as i checked the link and it came back with unknown site error!!, but i do have the software so i can send it if you want

Hi I was wondering if you could help me out again, this was working before using dism, but now i am getting an error 50? any ideas, I am trying to inject NIC drivers for a Tosh SAT Pro A300. Just as an update, I am still no closer to injecting the drivers, I even went on another site and they suggested using the /forceunsigned switch, but this didn't work! so I am out of ideas now! any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated if any one could help
