Hey if there is any thing I can help with then count me in, I tend to visit this site every day at work, and also from home, so count me in if you want, anything to help keep a good site like this running.
  2. Is there a way of formating the whole HDD with WSIM? so that we only have one partition. The reason I ask is that the PC's we want to image have already 3 partitions on them and if you select the wrong one, WDS goes belly up!... any assistance would be greatly appreciated
  3. PROBLEM SOLVED... I needed version 1.01 of the AIK... I can rest now
  4. Ok... now what do I do with these files? LOL... I would prefer to do it the normal way...
  5. Ok just discovered this, if I use the /apply switch rather than the /mountrw switch, injecting the drivers works? do you know why this is?
  6. yes as per your instructions... I have tried running it from another drive and I get the same error message. I can mount and un-mount the boot.wim image OK. I think this was the orignal problem I was having... any ideas???
  7. PEIMG failed to complete the operation with status code 0x800703fb. This is the error message I get when I try to inject drivers to my boot.wim file. Looking at the forum, this is something to do with the path not found or something. I have double checked everything and the path I am using is correct. Does any-one have any idea about this and how I can resolve it? Thanking you in advance
  8. Hi anyweb, Once again great tutorials. One question tho about partitioning HDD via WSIM, how can you do this with XP images? the problem I have is that I have to deploy two images, one that has one big partition, while another has two partitions in it. I know you can use the unattended.xml files and create a different one for each image, but this only seems to work for Vista images and not XP ones. If there is another way of doing this or is this only possible with Vista images? If I am missing a step some-where please let me know? I am so close to fully deploying things with WDS that it would be a shame to have to go back to some other imaging software. Thanks in advance....
  9. Hi just discovered that this needs to be altered in the sysprep.sif file too
  10. OK now sorted please refer to this link... it's easy once you know how... thank God for the internet http://robwhitehouse.com/windows/windows-s...yment-services/
  11. Yes you were right I checked my other notes and I did not have the commit switch... again thanks
  12. Thanks for providing all this help, I would like to ask a question about PC Username. With RIS you could set it so that it asked you what you wanted to call the PC before you loaded the image, can this also be done with WSIM. What I would like to be able to do is be able to name the PC's before deploying the image. I hope you can help with this, as you have helped a lot so far, I can't thank-you enough.... Sorry if I am posting so much... but of all the web-sites I have been on, you are the only one that seems to understand this subject
  13. This is interesting, I have just re-read your instructions for injecting drivers, does it make any differance that when I injected the inf files I used *.inf rather than name the .inf files individually? I can't see how that makes any differnce, or does it?
  14. Ok this only works for vista images it seems, when I try to point it with an XP image it says that this type of file is not supported, where am I going wrong? I thought I had this sorted!!!
  15. No problem, I have found the option to point it to the *.xml file. It's in the Image Properties window, under the General Tab. At the bottom is the "Allow image to install in unattended mode" tick box.
  16. IT WORKS!!!! this is great, I have managed to capture an image and also deploy an image successfully... I have followed your steps closely about injecting drivers and they are the same steps I used! Did you copy all the drivers into the boot.wim file? Now I just have to see if I can image some Toshiba Laptops I'll let you know how I get on
  17. Hi this is great, I will try this tonight and let you know what happens... thanks for all your help. BTW which drivers did you use in the end???
  18. So does this mean that if any one wants to deploy an image, they must have a USB stick with the autounattended.xml file in it? I was wondering if this could be copied somewhere on the captured image? I think that's what I should have aksed, like with RIS where the *.sif file resided in the I386 folder of the image to be deployed? Sorry if i wasn't clear earlier? But if i could get WDS working it would save us a lot of money!!!
  19. Just a quick question, I have created an autounattended file, where do I place this? so that when I deploy it I can just leave it to complete without any user interference. I am used to RIS and I know you included the sif file in the folder that the image was created in. I read the article about creating an automated file, but I t say's about putting it on a USB stick?
  20. Thanks for your help... here is the HP link http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...&taskId=135 I ended up injecting all the drivers from here in the end
  21. Still no luck on the drivers front, I have tried injecting drivers from the Intel site and also the HP site, I even tried the XP drivers for RIS to see if they made any difference! Is there anyone out there who has successfully deployed and captured an image for the HP DC 7900 ultra-slim or slim form PC? CAN ANY-ONE HELP....PLEASE!!!!
  22. This is proving more difficult than I thought! I have installed/injected every Vista NIC driver for this PC and I still get the error message... does any one have any other suggestions I could try... this is now getting really desperate!!!
  23. Hi I see you got the deploy images set up, which drivers did you use? I have tried the Vista drivers on the HP and Intel website for the HP7900 with very little success, I know the 7800 is not that different from the 7800, or is it???
  24. Once again thanks... I will try to locate the correct drivers
  25. Thanks for getting back so quick, I think my problem is a driver issue if I have understood it right. I get as far as loading the image I want to capture window, and when I try to copy it to the server after a while it errors and say's "The network location cannot be reached". I never had this problem before in my previous place of work. Would you know which *.inf file or drivers I have to inject for a HP DC7900 ultra-slim form PC? which runs Windows XP SP2? I have tried both the vista and xp drivers. Help!!!!
