  1. Hello there, we are currently on Config Manager Version 2309. We have a CAS and multiple Primary Sites. For each Primary Site / Location we have mostly the same Windows Installation, only Domain Join and maybe device drivers are different. The Config for each Primary Site is the same, only one Primary Site is SSL enabled and can communicate with our Cloudpoint. Within on Primary Site / Location (which is not the SSL one) we have a problem installing clients in our second domain. This primary site is for two networks, one "Administration" network and one for our students (second domain), so different domain but everything else within Tasksequenz is the same. Domain Join works, Clients are communicating with the primary site and everything seems to work fine. After installing and configuration of the Config Manager clients on these clients the windows installation should go on with installing software and perform scripts and things. The installation of software is not working with generic error, so we enabled to go on. Installation goes on and goes into error 0x80070002 while trying to access a network path to execute a script. As far as I can see within the log the problem is not the permission of the user or that he can't reach it (the user is the same on all locations and is working in second domain). The user is also within configuration of the MP / Software Distribution as Network Access Account. It seems that he suddenly can't find the package/tasksequence - I see within "ClientLocation.log" that the client has the correct MP assigned and is in Intranet. Suddenly this changes to "Client is in Internet" and "Current Internet Management point is <empty>". This site has no Internet activation yet so I'm wondering why these clients are switching? It happens within 4 of 5 Installation, so 1 Client is not switching automatically in this network. Within the other network at the same primary site everything works perfect. Where can I see why they are changing to Internet? They are permanent on LAN. Where can I set that they should only use Intranet (and why do I have to do this only for this site and this network)? Only with this site and this network we have the problem that sometimes clients are falling out of their collections are not approved any longer, makes sense now if they are switching to Internet and have no connection to the MP anymore. EDIT: It was working properly 1 month before and we made no change as far as I know.... If anyone has any Idea or needs more information I would be glad. Thank yall in advance. Lin
  2. Hey Guys / Niall - I've got a fairly straightforward question for you. When the SCCM (2012 R2) Client is installed / deployed to a system, successfully downloads locally, but fails, it retries installation by default every 30 minutes. When creating an Orchestrator runbook for Client Health, I'm needing ccmsetup to try only once. So basically, I'm trying to find out how to make ccmsetup.exe not retry installation and simply fail. There is a "Retry" command line switch for ccmsetup (/retry:<Minutes>) where minutes may be specified, however, this does not pertain to the actual installation, but the initial download of the setup files. It does not have an affect on the client installation, itself. Yes, a simple script could be created which could kill the process after X, but prefer a native (or at least better) solution. Any ideas? Thanks!
  3. I have been beating my head against the wall with this. I have scoured the internet and come up with very little help I am trying to get installed theAMD Catalystâ„¢ Notebook Display Driver, the video will not install with out the whole package and I cannot seem to get it to install. I tried breaking down the components to MSI and setting them up that way, I tried setting them up as an application. could someone help with the steps to get this one insalled. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello, I am trying to install SCCM 2012 R2 and am encountering an unexplained SQL error. During the Prerequisite check, I receive an error stating that SCCM requires a supported SQL Server version. We are using SQL Server 2012 SP1, Cumulative Update 6. According to the matrices I have seen, this should be compatible with running a Primary Site on SCCM 2012 R2. The contents of my ConfigMgrPrereq log file is attached. If anyone can see a reason for my issue, I would be very appreciative. Thanks! Scott ConfigMgrPrereq.txt

  8. Hello Everyone, I am the ultimate noob, I have no formal training training and everything I learn on my own either by reading manuals , watching tutorials or just watching someone. I think I learn best with video tutorials. Does any one know of a really good step by step guide for Installing SCCM 2007, everything for donw to the prereqs. Thank you, Ray aka admin_noob
  9. Good Afternoon All - I'm installing SCCM 2012 today for the company i work for. Previously, I've installed SCCM 2007 numerous times and 2012 about a half dozen times so am familer with the process and expected issues. This time, though, I'm getting something I haven't run into before and need help. Below is the environment as well as the issues I'm having. Please help! - Thanks! Environment - x2 Virtual Machines running Windows 2008 R2 x64 - Fully Patched - One of the VMs has had the prerequisites loaded for SCCM and will be the dedicated SCCM server - The other VM is for SQL. It has SQL 2008 SP2 CU9 Standard freshly installed. Note: We will eventually put the SQL DB on out SQl Cluster - but - it's not up to speed on updates so currently isn't compatible. Therefore, I have created the above SQL VM with the lowest supported version of SQL so that once the cluster is upgraded, the DB can be moved to it. - Created an account named "sccmadminsvc" with domain admin rights. It's set as a local admin on both the SCCM and SQL VM - Created the System Management container under System and deligated full rights of the SCCM VM's hostname to it. - SCCMAdminSVC is local admin on both VMs / SCCM Hostname is local admin on SQL VM The Issue I start the SCCM installation to set it up as a typical, primary site. I accept the licenses & enter key; enter updates path; enter in specs of site; languages; and set to Install the primary site as standalone site. For Database information, Ichange Server Name for SQl server from SCCM VM's hostname to SQL VM's FQDN keeping the rest default. I use the SCCM VM FQDN as SMS Provider, then set to configure the communication method per role. After that a couple more things. Now, it runs a prereq check before installing. After doing so, I get the following WARNINGS - WSUS SDK on site server - Verify site server permissions to publish to active directory - Configuration for SQl Server memory usage - SQL Server process memory allocation - Site System to SQL Server Communication I am used to a couple of those, but not the System Management container one and SQL Communication. Details from C:\ConfigMgrPrereq.log (For the 2nd and last WARNING) ERROR: Site server does not have create child permission on AD 'System Management' WARN: Site server does not have delete child permission on AD 'System Management' SVRSCCM02.domain.com; Verify site server permissions to publish to Active Directory.; Warning; The site server might be unable to publish to Active Directory. The computer account for the site server must have Full Control permissions to the System Management container in its Active Directory domain. You can ignore this warning if you have manually verified these permissions. For more information about your options to configure required permissions, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=233190. ERROR: Connected to SQL Server but failed to execute query IF NOT EXISTS (select * from master.sys.server_principals where name='DOMAIN\SVRSCCM02$') BEGIN CREATE LOGIN [DOMAIN\SVRSCCM02$] FROM WINDOWS; SELECT 1; END ELSE SELECT 0 ERROR: Failed to connect to SQL Server SVRSCCM02.domain.com. SVRSCCM02.domain.com; Site System to SQL Server Communication; Warning; A communication error has been detected between the specified site system and the site database computer. This error can occur when the site database server is offline or if a valid SPN has not been registered in Active Directory Domain Services for the SQL Server instance hosting the site database. Setup cannot continue. What I've Tried - Verified System Management container permissions - Recreated System Management container from scratch - Re-extended schema (Successful just like 1st time) - Verified firewall is off - Verified SCCMAdminSVC has sysadmin rights to SQLServer - Few other small things - Searched Google enough to be confident this error will be in top 5 searches of day - Log file is attached - It's very possible that it's something simple. Any ideas? If you have any questions, please let me know - Thanks!
  10. Hello, I found this forum some weeks ago and it helped me a lot with my SCCM environment! Thanks you! Now my question, we are using SCCM 2007 R2 on a Win2003 server. We roll out SCCM client to all pcs and notebooks. Now we want to deploy it to our server, too. I will use it for software and hardware inventory but will be sure that it isn't possible to install software by sccm client. Is there an option or an registry key which I can use to forbidden installation software by sccm client? Thanks and regards Staudi
