  1. I am running into an extremely odd issue. I have several task sequences that are failing to apply image during OSD. When I check the smstslog I see the following error "Failed to run the action: Apply Operating System. Error 255" I can find no mention of error 255 anywhere on the internet. When I check the status messages for the deployment ID I see the following: "The task sequence execution engine failed executing the action (Apply Operating System) in the group (Install Operating System) with the error code 255 Action output: ... Downloading file /SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/P0100051/sccm
  2. Hi, I have an issue to install an application during OSD task sequences, no problem when i deploy this app. ++++++ Failed to enforce app. Error 0x87d00213. ++++++ AppEnforce 28/02/2018 19:09:59 5440 (0x1540) In program app, "Allow this application to be installed...." is checked. 3. Hello experts, I am doing project at school (Windows Deployment). I have installed Windows Server 2016 onto VMware Workstation (DHCP, DNS, WDS, SCCM2012 R2, SQL Server 2012 SP1, ADK 10.1) and want to deploy Windows 7 x64 to other empty workstation. After powering the workstation on, it picks IP from DHCP, loads image, and after preparing network connections it automatically reboots without showing anything. You can see it here. I have tryed to troubleshoot. PXE is enabled, image, OS updated at distribution port, credentials are ok, imported vmware drivers, time is ok. I also ru

  5. I am trying to add a CAS to a stand along primary server and I get to the point where it is asking for the Path to the SQL Server data file and the Path to the SQL Server Log file, but doesn't proceed any further. If the SQL server is remote, does it still use a local C:\... path, and would it be the path on the remote server or local...SQL is installed as a default instance on another server called xwz. Won't go past screen shot below.
  6. Hey Guys / Niall - I'm wrapping up a complete rebuild of the production environment's SCCM. So far, I've installed SCCM 2012 R2, applied SP1, then applied CU3. Recently, I installed MDT 2013 Update 2 then ran the ConfigMgr Integration as Administrator. I'm trying to create the base MDT Packages, but am getting errors! When trying to create a new MDT Boot Image, I perform the following steps: Right click Boot image and choose to create a new MDT boot image Enter the (empty) source path for the boot image Enter the desired name and version Select x64 and 128mb On the next page
  7. Hello all. During OSD my task sequence is failing with error code 0x80004005 at the very end of "Apply Operating System". The attached smsts.log (smtsprobook) seems to indicate something funny going on with partitions? Test Systems: 1. HP Prodesk 400 G3 SFF 2. HP Probook 430 G3 History: I have created a task sequence for deploying Windows 7 Enterprise X64 w/ SP1. This task sequence works great for the HP Prodesk. No issues at all. Task Sequence Steps (in order): Capture Windows Settings Capture Network Settings Install Operating System
  8. Hello, I running with a new 2012 build: Windows 2012 STD, SQL 2012 (CU5), and SCCM 2012 SP1. I installed WSUS and then SUP and most of the updates are downloading. Sporadically the wsyncmgr.log is showing : Failed to sync update “xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx”. Error: The Microsoft Software License Terms have not been completely downloaded and cannot be accepted. Source: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.BaseApi.SoapExceptionProcessor.DeserializeAndThrow. I have looked at a lot of the solutions out there and of them none appear to apply. Permisisons in the DB and folders are good. WSUS
  9. I have an issue that follows me around and pops up at arbitrary times. I can have a task sequence working great for months, then make some changes and get this issue to "pop" out of nowhere. The issue is that the task sequence will try to start over on itself for no reason and it can always be narrowed to a custom script or app install (but not always the same one). The error in the smsts log is "Another task sequence wizard is already running." In the smsts.log the behavior is that after something executes, all of a sudden TSMBootStrap.exe fires up out of nowhere, ruining the in-flight se
  10. Hello, I built a UDI task sequence a while back and everything has been working fine. But lately, I have run into a problem where the process will fail right after it goes through the "Gather" stage, and right before it gets to the UDI. After some troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that it happens on a blank hard drive that has no partitions. If I boot up to a Windows installation disk and format and partition the drive first, then the task sequence will work properly. Has anyone else seen this or is it just me? Thanks! Wes
  11. Hi all, I'm in the midst of learning the OSD process that's handled by SCCM. My task sequence is using the default steps in order to minimise confusion / issues. The problem I'm facing is that during the disk partitioning steps, the C: partition isn't being set as active, so when the TS steps through to deploying the OS, it cannot find an area to put it. The key areas of the log are pasted below, but I've attached the entire log just in case. Any guidance would be thoroughly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ==============================[ OSDDiskPart.exe ]============================== O
  12. Hey Guys / Niall - I wanted to make this post as even though still researching, it hasn't been going that well... I recently installed SCCM 2012 R2 (which I updated to SP1 CU3) in an environment which recently had SCCM 1511 installed and no longer used and I hear SCCM 2007 in the past. When deploying clients from the console, only about 30% of them are responding as actually being installed. When I look at logs, I see that the client installs correctly on all, but Location Services shows the below errors: After research, I tried sending "ccmsetup RESETKEYINFORMATION=TRUE"

  18. I have a Windows 2012 server running SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4. I use it primarily for Endpoint Protection and Windows Updates. I have several Automatic Update Rules to deploy Endpoint definitions every night. I was going through some of the Deployments (to check for errors and such) when I saw that almost all of them had errors. Under Monitoring --> Deployments I click on the Error tab and what I see is this: Last Enforcement Error Code: 0X80070643 and it was dated 5/7/2014. Also, it shows my compliance at only 6.0%. My own PC was listed as having this error so I opened the Sys

  20. Hello, I am trying to install SCCM 2012 R2 and am encountering an unexplained SQL error. During the Prerequisite check, I receive an error stating that SCCM requires a supported SQL Server version. We are using SQL Server 2012 SP1, Cumulative Update 6. According to the matrices I have seen, this should be compatible with running a Primary Site on SCCM 2012 R2. The contents of my ConfigMgrPrereq log file is attached. If anyone can see a reason for my issue, I would be very appreciative. Thanks! Scott ConfigMgrPrereq.txt
  21. Hello All, I'm trying to image a Dell Precision M6800. It PXE boots and pulls the boot wim fine but once it gets into the task sequence area it will just reboot. I can't seem to pull an IP address to it at all but it PXE boots fine. This is the only laptop that does this. Even the previous M6700 will boot via PXE and is able to image. I also have booted into all other Dell Machines fine. This is the first M6800 and its not letting me imagine it. I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Is any one else having this problem with other computers? smsts.log
  22. Please help. The error I am receiving is "the task sequence cannot be run because the program files cannot be located on a distribution point" I know there has been other topics concerning this issue. But I've tried a lot of those suggestions. I am booting a virtual machine with an iso instead of PXE booting. I am still in the testing phases of this (obviously). The ID it is pointing to is the configuration manager upgrade. However with that said If I were to delete the current package, rebuild it, distribute and deploy it, the next time I try to run the TS it will point to a differen
  23. Hello everyone; SCCM 2012 server agent deployment process, while I ran into the following error logs. I wonder what could be the reason? "the agent has not collected files matching the file name "*.exe" or the path "*\*" from this computer because the files exceed the maximum size limit of 512 kb. you may need to reconfigure the maximum size limit to allow file collection at the next scheduled agent interval." Thank you.
  24. Hello - I'm attempting to install Config Mgr. for the first time. I following your deployement guide step for step and I'm slowly working through the issues. This error has me stumped. The first steps of the install check out.... no major warnings.
