  1. Not sure if this is the standard behavior, but the current client version my systems are using is 5.00.8634.1814. However the version that is installing during imaging is not the latest version. Is there a way to resolve this during imaging, or do I just wait until the client upgrades itself? Thanks Jesse
  2. I've got a new installation of SCCM 2012 that is going mostly well. This was a clean install, but I believe this environment may have tried SCCM 2007 at some point in the past, though unsuccessfully. I have a couple clients that are failing installation. They are all Windows XP. Here is a snippit of the ccmsetup.log. I have defined all of my subnets as boundaries and joined them to a boundary group. This client is on the same subnet as many other clients that are working fine. The certificate is issued and the root CA is trusted. I have removed and rejoined this client to the domain. I have run winmgmt /resetrepository on this client. I looked up the 0x87d00283 with net helpmsg and it returns: This doesn't make any sense to me. My forest and domain function level is Windows 2008. These particular clients are Windows XP Professional SP3. I have many other WinXP SP3 clients working fine. I've pretty well run out of ideas and would welcome any discussion on the subject that might help me in any way. Thanks for listening!
  3. Good morning, I have tried installing the client through the client push method and by running the setup file locally on the PC, but my clients never return a hardware or software scan. They return Heartbeat DDR and policy request dates, but even when manually prompting them to do hardware/software scans from the client it does not work. I am running SCCM 2012 Eval version. When I run Hardware inventory from the client this is the output from InventoryAgent.log: There are many errors, but I am not sure where to start or what they mean... --- Inventory: *********************** Start of message processing. *********************** InventoryAgent 12/15/2014 8:14:06 AM 12860 (0x323C) Inventory: Message type is InventoryAction InventoryAgent 12/15/2014 8:14:06 AM 12860 (0x323C) Inventory: Temp directory = C:\WINDOWS\CCM\Inventory\Temp\ InventoryAgent 12/15/2014 8:14:06 AM 12860 (0x323C) Inventory: Clearing old collected files. 4. Hello Windows-noob! I apologize if this is the wrong place to put this, however I'm new to this site and trying to get this resolved quickly. I'm having issues completing the installation of a SCCM client on a Windows 2008 R2 Server (It happens to be our Exchange box). Our site is up and functioning correctly - out of about 400 computers, this is the only problem I've ever had. On the client in the ClientIDManagerStartup Log, It says "Server rejected registration request: 3". On the server in the MP_RegistrationManager log, I've attached a snippet of the errors that keep repeating. I've tried resintalling, deleting the certificates, deleting the SMSCFG.INI file, and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm limited as far as what I can do to the server on-hours since it's our exchange server - for example I can't restart it anytime after 6:30 AM, so that has hindered my troubleshooting a little bit. It's the last PC I have on our entire network that needs the client, so any help will be appreciated. Thanks, opher15
  5. Hello, I recently setup SCCM 2012 using the Unified installer from Microsoft. I have a simple network with 1 DC and a few servers & workstations, all within the 10.0.30.0/24 subnet. All servers are Windows 2008 R2, and workstations are a mix of WinXP, 7, and 8. I have been able to get the client to install on 4 of the machines on my network - all are servers running Windows Server 2008 R2. However, when I attempt to push the client to my remaining Windows Server 2008 R2 or Win XP, Win7, or Win8 boxesit fails. When I take a look at the C:\Windows\CCMSETUP\ccmsetup.log files the only thing I can find that is interesting is as follows: <![LOG[site version '5.00.7711.0000' is compatible. Client deployment will continue.]LOG]!><time="00:35:05.552+240" date="05-21-2012" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="232" file="ccmsetup.cpp:289"> <![LOG[Couldn't verify 'C:\Windows\ccmsetup\Silverlight.exe' authenticode signature. I am specifically looking at a Win7 box so I thought that BITS shouldn't be giving me an issue. I can seem to find anything relevant online when searching for "CcmSetup failed with error code 0x80004005"
  6. Very new to SCCM, let alone SCCM 2012. I am assisting in a migration from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012, and a query was run to find a collection of machines that do not have the SCCM 2012 agent. Next an "install Client" command was run against the collection, and I can see in the ccm.log the installation of the agent running against many machines. Overall there is about 20k machines the client is being installed on. Is their a way to see the progress? When re-running the machines without agents query, it just shows up to 10k machines, so not sure how many out of the 20K have been completed already, or if there is an issue with a few hundred here or there. When looking in the console at Monitoring > Overview > Client Status > Client Activity, I can see more machines as "active" but I am not sure if it is reflecting the 2012 agents only. Appreciate any help, sorry for the basic question, but I have had trouble finding the answer in forums and via google searches.
  7. First up, Thanks Anyweb, your Tuts have been fantastic, great stuff. OK we have installed SCCM2012 RC a few weeks ago and it has been running pretty well, been deploying Clients and starting to configure the various elements and have been able to get the Client installed on 102 systems out of 144. but for some unknown reason the client will not fully compete installtion. An error that I am continually seeing from one system is: Execute query exec [sp_CP_SetLastErrorCode] 2097152139, 0 Other errors, I have been able to successfully work through and testing laptops that have been turned off from the network for a while have successfully installed the client. So I am really at a miss here on working out this error and resolving it. Any idea or suggestions on how I can over come this or how to gain more info regarding this error from the ccm.log? I have read various suggestions from many websites but nothing seems to correct this issue. Thanks for any suggestions.
  8. I've recently build a new SCCM 2012 server and configured client push. I've got a machine which has the cm client installed but in the collections it's showing as NO under client. There are no error messages in the clients logs. On the server logs I get: Execute query exec [sp_CP_SetLastErrorCode] 2097152366, 0 I've tried right-clicking on the machine and installing again but I get the same result. Can anyoen help? Thanks,
  9. I have finally rolled out SCCM 2012 to production and most of my PC's have the client installed. However I have a laptop that fails to install the SCCM Client. I extended the Schema in my AD, I have confirmed BITS was enabled and started on the PC's services. I manually tried to force the client to install from the SMS_Site-Code\Client directory by running ccmsetup.exe. I ran it as administrator and under my domain admin account. Always fails. I checked the client's ccmsetup.log, looks like it downloads the client setup files but CcmSetup fails. If anyone can assist me I would greatly appreciate it. I need to get the SCCM Client installed on this machine ASAP. I have an upcoming Audit and the client helps me reduce a lot of overhead in pulling the reports I need for my Computers. Note: Changed Servername, client/user name for obvious reaons.<p>CcmSetup version: 5.0.7711.0000 ccmsetup 8/13/2012 2:17:48 PM 7284 (0x1C74) Running on OS (5.1.2600). Service Pack (2.0).
