    Device Collection for Unattended/Attended Systems

    Phylum
    By Phylum,
Is it possible for ConfigMgr to determine whether or not a machine is attended or unattended? Attended: One or more users is logged into it, be it physically or via RDP. The machine may be actively being used (e.g.: user is doing something) OR it may just be locked (e.g.: user locked the workstation before going to lunch) Unattended: Machine is powered up and no users are logged into it; Presumably sitting at the login screen. If so, what would the query look like?   There are several poss

    Strange date and time issue

    By chimmez,
Hi everyone,   just a quick and strange bug. I have a captured Windows 10 1511 ENT wim, which is clean except for the removal of a few 'modern' apps (i.e. Xbox etc). This wim is being deployed from SCCM Current Branch and is a really basic task sequence (nothing too complicated going on, just the regular deploy ts). The systems are then being joined to the domain.   After about 30 minutes, the date and time of the system reverts to when the Wim was captures (last Friday). Not only does the s

Software Center / Client fails during OSD

    By cgnwhs,
Hi all, in the summer we updated to 2012 R2 SP2 and everything works great, OSD works fine and I used the new Configuration Manager Client Upgrade Package (v6) pushed out for the setup configmgr step. Recently we just installed CU1 and now I can't get the client to install on desktops during OSD. On laptops without a DVD drive it works fine. On desktops it tries to do some funky stuff with disk D (the dvd drive). I've copied my logs below. Any ideas? Short of just unplugging the dvd during build

W10 Ent Upgrade to build 10586

    Siroj
    By Siroj,
We are running several Windows 10 Enterprise build 10240 machines that were deployed using 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 without problems. Now i am running a few of those 10240 W10 machines in a test environment where i have a sccm version 1511 server. What i want to test is the process of upgrading W10 10240 to 10586 (v1511). If i understand it correctly using the "latest and greatest" version of SCCM, i should be able to directly upgrade to 10586 without using task sequence and/or reinstall just like insta

guide to migrate from SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 to SCCM 1511

    By airka,
Hello,   I'm looking for a guide to migrate from SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 to SCCM 1511. SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 is installed on Win 2008 R2 and the database is on SQL 2008 R2 too. I want to have SCCM 1511 installed on a new Win 2012 R2 server with the database on SQL 2014. How to proceed ?

How can I install System Center Configuration Manager (Current Branch) ?

    By anyweb,
Introduction Microsoft have been hard at work developing the next version of Configuration Manager (after System Center 2012 Configuration Manager). Up until now they've released a bunch of Technical Previews and today they've announced the General Availability of the RTM release, along with it's official name: System Center Configuration Manager and Endpoint Protection (version 1511). The version used in the product name specifies the YY/MM (year/month) that it was released.   Note: There is

USMT - Calculate how much data will be backed up and inform user before process starts?

    dverbern
    By dverbern,
We have configured a "Refresh" OSD deployment, kicked off by users from Software Centre, that uses USMT to backup user data. Our company policies are quite liberal and back up potentially large amounts of user data, which can take some time.   Does anyone know if there is a script or tool that we might be able to use to inform users, prior to kicking off the OSD Refresh process of just how much data will be captured in terms of file numbers of amount of Gigabytes? It would give users a choic
