  1. Would you mind giving me the full query for the condition, using the new variable DefaultGateway001 ? I'm currently trying to get something going using this (running a script that renames, based on subnet/gateway) but i'm not sure what to put as the full wmi query (Select * From _____?_____ Where DefaultGateway001="0.0.0.0" any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I have 5 sites that currently have 5 separate, identical task sequence...but one difference is there is a program one of my techs wrote that renames the computer to, for example, MPHS-SerialNumber. Our sites are as follows: MPHS- MPJH- MPES- so forth and so on Each site has their own gateway/subnet, and so if I was able to put this ALL into ONE task sequence that would be amazing. If given this, how would you all do this? I know that I can add the scripting/program/etc for each site to the task sequence, and then under options apply a conditional WMI query based on the subnet/gateway the client resides in, but I don't know HOW to do this. I've tried this: Select * From Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration Where DefaultIPGateway="10.80.16.1" And I get this error during the task sequence: The task sequence execution engine failed evaluating the condition for the action (MPHS Rename) in the group (Site-Specific Renaming). Error code 4119. The operating system reported error 53: The network path was not found. I'm at a loss for how to achieve this, but i know it's something simple i'm missing...or I just need to completely re-evalute how we're renaming these computers and do it differently...anyone out there generous enough to help me out with this task would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
  3. Good morning all, As stated in the title, i'm trying to get Software Updates through SCCM 2012 going and I'm stuck because i'm used to the old school way of doing this on a standalone WSUS server. After I had already installed the WSUS role as well as SUP I looked at the guide generously posted by anyweb here : http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5683-using-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-part-5-adding-wsus-adding-the-sup-role-deploying-the-configuration-manager-client-agent/ I noticed the few differences in my setup and his was I was installing using Server 2012, and at no point do I remember it asking me if I wanted to setup a default WSUS webpage. I know in standalone WSUS you had to setup IIS website for clients, but is that required for SCCM deployment? What I've done is the following: 1) added WSUS role to Server 2012 server 2) added SUP role in SCCM 3) I've setup my classifications / programs requiring updates and synchronized 4) downloaded Windows 7 updates and put them into a Windows 7 Updates group 5) now i'm stuck. I'm honestly ignorant to the way that SCCM deploys updates, and I think it's because i'm stuck to the way WSUS worked in the standalone and i'm over-thinking it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I believe most if not all on the SCCM side is setup correctly, for all are online/ok in Component Status under monitoring...I just need a point in the right direction on how to grasp the logic of how to obtain / deploy with SCCM. I know it's a lot easier than i'm making it, just need some help Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
  4. Good morning, I have printers set for inventory on my SCCM 2012 environment. I need to run a query on all USB/LPT connected printers in the district. Can someone please help me with a query/report or something that I can run that will give me a list of all printer models that have been collected from all my clients? This will help me in collecting drivers while we go forward with our district-wide windows 7 migrations. Many thanks!
  5. I have 3 external DPs in my environment, and i'm having trouble successfully distributing driver packages to ALL of them. Here's my example: Dell Driver Package will deploy to DP1, DP2, DP3, but not DP4 HP/Compaq Driver Package will deploy to DP1, DP2, DP4, but not DP3 Lenovo Driver Packages Distribute everywhere fine, all 4 DPs Is there a reason that you all can help me with that might tell why this is failing?
  6. Everyone, I want to give you all an insite as to my current setup, and let me know what you think I should do if anything to optimize Performance of my SCCM 2012 sp1 environment: I manage a public school district, containing around 1,800 computers and have one SCCM that handles everything at this point. All roles on this server as as follows: application catalog web service point application catalog website point component server distribution point endpoing protection point management point reporting services point site database server site server site system state migration point In my physical LAN, all of our external campuses connect back to our High School (where the above main server is located) through a 50mb up/down internet service fiber link. I have the following sites/boundaries: High School (main/only current SCCM Server) Junior High : i have a server here running this site's DC, can spin up a virtual distribution point if necessary/recommended Central Elementary : i have a server here running this site's DC, can spin up a virtual distribution point if necessary/recommended Eastside Elementary Kindergarten : i have a server here running this site's DC, can spin up a virtual distribution point if necessary/recommended Walker Pre-K Facility : i have a server here running this site's DC, can spin up a virtual distribution point if necessary/recommended..this site is a bit different, because of distance there is no dedicated high speed fiber internet service to this site. They have a 10mb download / 2mb upload ISP only. I believe they will desperately need a DP. thoughts? Currently, all of these sites are running back to our main DP/MP sccm server at the High School for everything SCCM. The sccm server itself is a dedicated Dell Poweredge R15 with dual quad-core i7 processors and 24gb of RAM. I believe it has plenty of fire-power to handle it's roles, for I watch system resources and we hardly take a hit even at high capacity. (Thoughts on this setup?) I have a Lenovo M92P workstation at each of our sites (listed above) with 8gb of RAM and 2TB of storage running server 2012. The only server running on these now are local DC and DHCP/DNS on 1 virtual server. I am thinking of spinning up another server on each box to act as the site's/boundarie's distrubution points, as well as whatever server roles you think will help for each site to take the load off of the LAN and high school main server. I will mainly be using SCCM for imaging/software distrubution/remote control of our clients. I am open to any and all suggestions from you seasoned pros, for I am new to the setting up / maintenance of SCCM, but have come from a corporation that had hundreds of site servers/BDPs/etc running SMS 2003/SCCM 2007 and so I know my way around it after the fact, but have had a BLAST setting this environment up from the ground up with help of forums such as these. If anyone has the time to point me in the right direction on a few of these items, I would be forever grateful and appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you very much!
