  1. Does anyone know if you can do a USMT capture from one site (In another state) and restore to a computer in a different site? When I Tried' to do this I am getting: "SMP request to "Site I want to restore at" failed with error: E_SMPERROR_MIGRATIONID_NOT_FOUND (204)" Failed to find an SMP that can serve request after trying 4 attempts. ExecuteRestoreRequestToSMP failed (0x80004005). ExecuteRestoreRequest failed (0x80004005). I really need to be able to capture from a computer at one of our sites and restore it to a computer at our site. Any help would be great! Thanks
  2. Really? Any ideas on how I could go about making all the versions "merge" and list as just list that 35 computers have firefox?
  3. How can I get a report of software installed on a group of computers without the report listing every version of software? II don't need to know that every computer has a different version of firefox just that 20 computers have firefox...Ideas? Thanks
  4. Could you explain how you did this?? I would love to stop having to pull down my images each time to patch. I'm using a windows 7 image
  5. I still have this problem in my environment. My servers are just sitting on "Past due, will be installed" and then never install....Any thoughts?
  6. I have checked the log but it all looks normal. No errors or anything
  7. Hi Thanks for getting back to me. I have followed those instructions exactly. Once I get everything going and try to image a computer, on first boot this is what comes up. Any ideas?
  8. Hello, I have a weird problem that keeps happening each month after I run the Scheduled updates on my image and try to image something I'm getting: "Windows failed to start"..... File "vmstorfl.sys" Status: 0xc0000098. (see attached picture) I have been having to install my image on a computer run windows updates and then recapture the image because I cannot get it to update in SCCM without this happening. This is the second month I have tried to update my image and this happens. If anyone has an idea how I can fix this it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Hello, I'm finally back at this. I do not see a scanstate.log or loadstate.log? When I run the TS it goes through the process of backing up the files like it would if I was going from computer A to computer B. Somehow when I try to go from computer A to computer A it never tries to load the files that it backed up after imaging. Does someone have a TS of what this looks like? I just want to be able to "refresh" a windows 7 computer. My preference would be to backup to a network location and restore from a network location only because local migration has not proved to work everytime. Any help would be great. Thanks SCCM 2012R2
  10. Hi the issue is its not working. The computer captures the data reimages but then doesn't restore the data.
  11. Hello, I have a state migration point and have been using it to go from Computer A to Computer B but I cannot get it to go from Computer A back to Computer A after reimaging. I am using System Centers TS to do this. See picture: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2j3la21&s=8#.U_tUHvmwLYg Any help would be great! Thanks
  12. Hello, We have a Dell 2012R2 server with 16 gig ram Intel Xeon E5620 @2.40Ghz 2.39Ghz running System Center 2012R2 5.0.7958.1000 fully patched. I started having this issue last week. I think it started happening after Patch Tuesday. I'm getting about 60+ of these a day. We have about 940 clients. 13. Hi I am trying to do a simple refresh from windows 7 to windows 7. Is there a simple guide for this? I want to be able to run it from PXE boot and reimage computers as well as preserve and restore the files. Any ideas? Thanks
  14. This is waht I pulled from the SMSTS log on the computer I am trying to restore to. I see lots of "fails" Failed to run the action: Release User State Storage. 15. Perfect! So I made a capture TS and it took about 30 min to capture and the file is about 4 gigs. However when I go to the computer and deploy the Restore TS it completes in about 20 seconds and says it was sucessfull but didn't restore anything? Any ideas? Appriciate all the help! Also my migration status just says in progress. Even after the restore TS says it completed.... I do see this in the laodstate log on the machine I am trying to restore to. [0x000000] The account 3HP2DD1\setup is chosen for migration, but the target does not have account 9WLPK02\setup. See documentation on /lac, /lae, /ui, /ue and /uel options.
  16. Ah Ok I figured that out. Now can I just make a TS for USMT backup and a TS for USMT restore and deploy it to each computer?
  17. Peter, I don't quit follow what you mean by a "computer association"? Could you walk me threw how to backup the data on computer A and restore it to computer B? Appriciate your help and time
  18. Hello. Wondering if I can get some help with a few things. The way I'm looking to do my backups and restores are as follows. Older computer - Capture userstate/Files - labels them as computer name on network location. New computer - Restore userstate/files by entering old computers name. This is how we had it setup with MDT, how can I do this in system center? I don't want to restore files bassed off of the computers primary users as We have alot of shared computers and it would make the most since if I had a task sequence to backup the old computer files to a network location and then had a restore task sequence that prompted for the computer name and restored the files from the old machine. Also if there is a way to do UEL:90 and restore only user profiles from the last 90 days. Any thoughts or ideas would be great! We are on the final road to system center and didn't think USMT was that complicated. Thanks!
  19. Hello, I'm trying to customize a SQL query. I took a few things out from the original for my inviroment but was wondering if it is possible to add "Total Minutes on Console" and "Last Console use" to this report? Any help is much appriciated! 21. On the trustedSites log it lists the server name using port 8888 "Successfually added url = http://Myserver:8888/CMApplicationCatalog", Yet the wsus server is using 8530. It lists as "Enabling WUA Managed server policy to use server: http://myserver.mydomain.net:8530" Why in the trustedsites would it be putting port 8888

  23. Thanks for the reply. I will try removing the gpo and see if that changes anything as well as checking the logs. I don't follow your question about the administration account? The admin account is the default local admin on the computer. We only log into it when we are doing work on computers.
  24. Hello, I have been searching the internet looking for a solution to why my wsus updates are not installing on my clients but can not find one. I have System Center 2012 R2 install on windows server 2012 R2. I have installed and configured my Boundaries as well as the DP, MP, SUP I have created a Software update package for my windows 7 clients I have a gpo that sets the wsus server for SCCM Installed software center on my client machines. (Applications will come through and install without a problem) The weird thing is I had one or two machines that have downloaded and installed wsus updates through system center without a problem. The rest of my test machines (15) will not. I know they are not geting updates as IE10 is in my updates and most of the machines are on IE9. When I consult the logs on one machine here is what I am seeing: UpdatesDeployment Log: ![LOG[user logon system task]LOG]!><time="16:45:17.606+420" date="04-21-2014" component="UpdatesDeploymentAgent" context="" type="1" thread="3424" file="systemtasks.cpp:90"> <![LOG[EnumerateUpdates for action (UpdateActionInstall) - Total actionable updates = 0]LOG]!><time="16:45:38.500+420" date="04-21-2014" component="UpdatesDeploymentAgent" context="" type="1" thread="3792" file="updatesmanager.cpp:945"> <![LOG[EnumerateUpdates for action (UpdateActionInstall) - Total actionable updates = 0]LOG]!><time="16:45:43.511+420" date="04-21-2014" component="UpdatesDeploymentAgent" context="" type="1" thread="3792" file="updatesmanager.cpp:945"> <![LOG[EnumerateUpdates for action (UpdateActionInstall) - Total actionable updates = 0]LOG]!><time="16:45:44.316+420" date="04-21-2014" component="UpdatesDeploymentAgent" context="" type="1" thread="4208" file="updatesmanager.cpp:945"> WUAHandler Log: <![LOG[Async searching completed.]LOG]!><time="16:29:00.180+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="4988" file="cwuahandler.cpp:2068"> <![LOG[successfully completed scan.]LOG]!><time="16:29:03.238+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="4788" file="cwuahandler.cpp:3557"> <![LOG[scan results will include all superseded updates.]LOG]!><time="16:29:04.216+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="3840" file="cwuahandler.cpp:2913"> <![LOG[search Criteria is ((DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains 'BFE5B177-A086-47A0-B102-097E4FA1F807') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains '0FA1201D-4330-4FA8-8AE9-B877473B6441') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains 'E6CF1350-C01B-414D-A61F-263D14D133B4') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains 'CD5FFD1E-E932-4E3A-BF74-18BF0B1BBD83') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains '3B4B8621-726E-43A6-B43B-37D07EC7019F') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains '28BC880E-0592-4CBF-8F95-C79B17911D5F') OR (DeploymentAction=* AND Type='Software' AND CategoryIDs contains '68C5B0A3-D1A6-4553-AE49-01D3A7827828'))]LOG]!><time="16:29:04.216+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="3840" file="cwuahandler.cpp:2916"> <![LOG[Async searching of updates using WUAgent started.]LOG]!><time="16:29:04.361+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="3840" file="cwuahandler.cpp:579"> <![LOG[Async searching completed.]LOG]!><time="16:29:28.927+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="940" file="cwuahandler.cpp:2068"> <![LOG[successfully completed scan.]LOG]!><time="16:29:32.018+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="3840" file="cwuahandler.cpp:3557"> <![LOG[CWuaHandler::SetCategoriesForStateReportingExclusion called with E0789628-CE08-4437-BE74-2495B842F43B;E0789628-CE08-4437-BE74-2495B842F43B,A38C835C-2950-4E87-86CC-6911A52C34A3; for leaves and E0789628-CE08-4437-BE74-2495B842F43B,A38C835C-2950-4E87-86CC-6911A52C34A3; for bundles]LOG]!><time="16:38:36.000+420" date="04-21-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="1" thread="3216" file="cwuahandler.cpp:2527"> Windows update Log: 2014-04-21 16:39:08:534 948 568 AU Initializing featured updates 2014-04-21 16:39:08:534 948 568 AU Found 0 cached featured updates 2014-04-21 16:39:08:534 948 568 AU Successfully wrote event for AU health state:0 2014-04-21 16:39:08:534 948 568 AU Successfully wrote event for AU health state:0 2014-04-21 16:39:08:534 948 568 AU AU finished delayed initialization 2014-04-21 16:39:13:546 948 d14 Report CWERReporter finishing event handling. (00000000) The content is on my DP and in good health. One other weird thing. We get alerts when accounts get "locked out" on the domain. On the computers I have been trying to get to download updates on they have been locking out the account "administrator" which is the account I have been logging into on the local machines (Its a local account). It seems to be trying to authenticate the local admin account with our Domain Controller for some reason. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appricaited. This is driving me crazy and I can't find the solution for it
