  6. that log doesn't contain the error, how about x:\windows\temp\smstslog anything there ? you'll note that this log is not the live one as it doesn't even reference you opening a cmd prompt.

  9. ok so why are you stopping the service ? after installing the client are you trying to capture it using the capture media or another way ?
  10. what site server is hosting your DP role (with pxe enabled) ?
  11. and was that after the failure ? are you looking in the right place ? (x: or c: ?) dir /s smsts*.log try that in the root of any drive letter after the failure and before the computer reboots, in other words when you see the message on screen (that you included above) press F8 and grab the logs
  12. that log only shows up to the apply drivers step, you need to find the log(s) AFTER the failure
  13. i deployed it as per this guide so the same as you, if you want to capture new drivers via windows update then go ahead and report back your progress i've not had any issues with drivers since I deployed mine (some months ago)
  14. i did an update on my surface pro today and that is part of the firmware, it worked fine here, have you tried deleting it, and rebooting

  17. if you followed the guide exactly then you'll have two ADRs, the first one is disabled (so don't use it) and the second one is enabled (use it..)
  18. look at what's in the ztimediahook.wsf file, is it referencing anything ? if not then dont worry about it secondy the prestart files need to be a writable UNC path eg; \\someserver\someshare
  19. so you are not using capture media, but instead manually installing and configuring a computer and then trying to capture it ? I would recommend using the build and capture process for that instead
  20. it's not supported to deploy Windows 8 with Configuration Manager 2007, and it won't be. To deploy Windows 8 with a supported version of Configuration Manager you need Configuration Manager 2012 SP1.
  21. hi Ben, why did they setup a CAS as a matter of interest, I do point out many reasons not to set one up, the primary site that died, was that a CM07 site ?
  22. the instructions above, in particular this bit... have you imported the task sequence ? have you copied the files where they are supposed to go ? this task sequence is not for the faint hearted, it's advanced and requires a lot of work (and understanding) to get working.
